My AOR is Oct 2nd 2019. In the web form, the response I got is "The local office in Montreal, Quebec, is currently verifying if your application meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied." and I called the call center twice, the first time they said my eligibility is under review and the second time they said my eligibility is under review required. My question: Is my eligibility under Review Required? Does this mean a bad thing? I have just ordered GCMS notes, so I am yet to receive them. Can experts chip in on their opinion? Thank you.

It's not necessarily a bad thing. Most of us in this thread are/were in RR due to various reasons and now we have the Eligibility passed. The bad thing is that now you know that your process most likely will take longer to be approved. You acted correctly by requesting GCMS notes, because you will learn the source of the review and will be able to be proactive and upload any supporting document that might help them clear the review.

You can start thinking now what might be the cause so you're prepared when the notes arrive. The most common causes RR are:

- You've said "yes" to any statutory questions during the application (the most common is if you had a visa denial in the past)
- Your Proof of Employment letter has any information missing or the NOC code you provided doesn't match with the your role description in the letter
- They are not being able to confirm your employment. Sometimes, small companies don't have websites or any other online presence for them to know that the company actually exists.
- Your Proof of Funds letter is incomplete or doesn't show the value required for your stream, if that's the case

Good luck!

Thank you very much, I ll wait for my GCMS notes to know more. In general how long does processing gets stuck in Review Required? I have been reading in this forum, that people have their cases stuck in this stage for many months. Is that true?

Regarding the common causes, I can only think of these 2 points below that could apply to me:

* For my 1st company (MNC > 350k employees), I gave the reference letter, but salary was not included in it, so I attached an email conversation with the company along with the reference letter where they say that salary component will not be available in the reference letter and can be checked in the latest compensation revision letter. And I attached the latest compensation letter too.
* For the 2nd company (my primary NOC ~ 1000 employees), they didn't issue a reference letter. So I gave a reference letter (not on company letterhead though) from my Direct Manager along with his ID card and Business card and attached an email conversation with the company where they say that they have no process to issue reference letters. My Manager was also not comfortable including my salary in his letter, so he had mentioned to refer to my salary in the latest compensation letter issued by the company.

I had additionally included my Experience Letter and pay stubs for all months in my 2nd company. Could there be an issue with these employment documents?? Can you please share your thoughts? Thank you again.

Guys, I've received a GU yesterday and called today to see what it was about. The trend is real. According to the officer, it's all passed, I just need to wait for the decision. I've seen in other groups that some applicants are receiving the PR confirmation via email (not PPR, the actual PR), so the only thing they need to do is to send photos to IRCC for the PR card expedition. Hopefully this will be our case soon. My timeline so far:

AOR: Sept 7
MEP: Sep 23
ADR: Nov 21
GU: April 23
nice!! Was the PR for CEC or FSW? And which group was it?

I have not seen any new cases on this forum unfortunately.. I saw a couple of cases that were issued a PR Confirmation by email as mentioned by mfsbf_87, but I think those cases had already received a PPR and submitted their passports before COVID.

@cansha

Application type: Inland CEC

My AOR: 29-May-2019
Medicals passed: 05-Jul-2019
Eligibility - recommended passed : 17-Sep-2019 (GCMS notes)

After that background check is in progress...

Since September there is no update on my file, is it common that some application takes longer time to process background check? I lost my hope.

Can you please suggest me that I can provide any additional information to process my application.
For inland candidates background check shows in progress from the beginning. There is no point in looking at statuses on the website. They are not updated regulalry and don't show correct picture. Best way is to order GCMS notes.

I'm not a specialist and maybe @cansha can weigh in here but all you mentioned can be the reason for the RR. From what you said, not having the salary in both letters might have raised some concerns. As the name says, they are going to review your situation, so it doesn't mean you're going to be denied right away. The GCMS notes will help you understand what's the exact problem and you can act on it if possible.

Most probably RR is for employment documents. In Montreal if documents deviate even slightly from what is prescribed by IRCC they will put it in RR. That is also one reason Montreal is slow. Good thing you have ordered GCMS notes. We can get more information from GCMS notes.

@cansha or anyone, could you please provide some insights as to why I have a RR. I have tried to see why or what I need to do but can't seem to see or think of any. Thanks.

There is nothing in the GCMS notes which indicates why it is in review required. I think it is just a mistake from case analyst and everything looks good as per his notes. This should get cleared as soon as final visa officer looks at the file.

thanks @cansha ...

yes I got two GCMS notes after 6 months and 10 months ...no difference .. both are looking same..

there is no specific description on the notes about reason for background check is in progress For long time..
