what does it meanÉ PGP2019 is on holdÉ
No just being processed slower. The article is talking about future immigration. Given the high unemployment and likely recession we need to prioritizes getting those in Canada back to work and get the unemployment rate down before accepting a large volume of immigrants. This is just an opinion piece it is not from the Liberal government.

Hi guys, I m wondering. during this COVID-19 period, if I receive CERB, will it be counted as my income to sponsor in line 150 for the year 2020? Thanks
Its still unknown. COVID19 affects everyone which leads to unprecedented circumstances. IRCC may apply some exceptions. who knows?

Hey guys, My parents were asked to provide PCC, Biometrics and Medical Exam on March 11th .

1. My mom was in canada for over an year in 2016 , do i need to get PCC from Canada as well ?

2. In the medical they ran ECG for my DAD only and it came back with "Right Bundle Blocked" .
We got it retested again at another hospital and they said its ok given age and family history. And nothing is required at this point.
Any opinions ??

3. In the letter there is mention of below statement which I am very UNCLEAR of what to submit or I need to ignore ?

Country Specific Requirements: Please refer to the country specific requirements listed for spouses, as these documents are applicable to parents and grandparents. Country specific requirements can be found on our website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp

Your parent can do IME and Biometric here if there is an optional at a further time. Keep in mind.
Thank you, the IME Office emailed us saying that the hospital won't be doing any non medical necessary testing or procedures. We have to wait until further notice. They postponed our meeting twice so far.

Hello,

The sponsors who have parents in Canada and already applied for parents and grandparents sponsorship program should join together and write a collective letter to IRCC, Canadian government and other government institutions asking for help/advise to speed up the sponsorship procedure. Our parents are currently in Canada they can’t go back home and it is also not safe.
I agree. We should do something.

no its not they have changed since 2 benefits were merged to make one! My wife work for service canada so this is the latest info
it is taxable benefit as latest update dated March 29th 2020.

"
Support for people facing unemployment
The new Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)
We will provide a taxable benefit of $2,000 a month for up to 4 months to:

  • workers who must stop working due to COVID19 and do not have access to paid leave or other income support.
  • workers who are sick, quarantined, or taking care of someone who is sick with COVID-19.
  • working parents who must stay home without pay to care for children that are sick or need additional care because of school and daycare closures.
  • workers who still have their employment but are not being paid because there is currently not sufficient work and their employer has asked them not to come to work.
  • wage earners and self-employed individuals, including contract workers, who would not otherwise be eligible for Employment Insurance.
* This benefit replaces the previously announced Emergency Care Benefit and the Emergency Support Benefit.
