Is SDS absolutely mandatory for Pakistani students?

I'm resuming my studies after a gap of 5+ years. Is the SDS GIC mandatory for every pakistani applying for a student visa?

I've heard it's not applicable to people with a longer study gap. Does anyone know if this is true?

GIC is mandatory for SDS applicants only. Under regular stream GIC is optional.

No, it's not. SDS is only for faster processing. And yes, they can if they justify the gap.
