I understand I hv to provide the required fund to support my tuition fee and living cost during my study in Canada. But do I have to hold the amount in the bank for 4 months before applying study permit? Or just showing the amount has been deposited is good enough?

You need to prove where the money came from and add an affidavit of support plus gift deed from person who deposited
