My friend's work permit will be expired soon at April 1st.

She has submitted the PNP. Yet because of the expiration of work permit, is the PNP submission still valid?

How can she stay longer in Canada during this Coronavirus pandemic and wait for her PNP finalization?

Is it possible for her to restore her status and wait for her PNP finalization during the extension period?

I know what PNP stands for. You haven't provided enough information. Does she already have the nomination from the province? Is she still waiting for the nomirnation?

I think She hasn't got the nomination.

She is Chinese instead of American with work permit.

If she wants to stay in Canada beyond the expiry of her work permit, she will need to apply to convert her status to visitor before her work permit expires. She will need to stop working as soon as the work permit expires.

Visitor extensions are generally 6 months. She will then have to apply for another.

PNP applications can take up to a few years to process.

She shoudl avoid falling out of status and having to apply to restore her status.

Yes I think she applied pnp with a job.
