Spousal Sponsorship - Need help !!

Hey guys,

I am a permanent resident of Canada and am trying to sponsor my wife who is in India. We got married this Feb. I am aware that we have to give proof of relationship. I have the photo’s clicked by a professional photographer.

Now as for chats, I know I need to submit translated ones. My question is do I submit one copy of original & one copy of translated chats ?

also for the documents, I was told that I need to submit all original. Is that true or does a photocopy would suffice ?

kindly answer these questions of mine.

Hey thanks for answering. But the answers there are very vague. Do you know anyone who has gone through it all and can share his/her experience ?

Also since she is in India and i am in Canada hence the forms will be scanned and printed and then signed by me. Will that be okay or they need everything original signed for forms ??

Don’t just include wedding photos. You should provide pictures from various events during the longest timeframe possible.

Any documents you submit in a language other than English or French should be translated to English or French by a certified translator. You will need to include the original language document (or copy, see below) and the certified translation of that document.

For some documents a photocopy is good enough for some they require a certified or notarized copy and some may require an original. In the document checklist that you can acquire online it will specifically say if a photocopy, certified/notarized copy, or original are required.

I suggest you go to the link provided above and get your application checklist, then review the instructions there.

In IMM0008 - generic app. it asks how many family members including yourself is in this application? I am confused since I myself am a PR, should I put myself in there or just write 1 since it is just the principal applicant?

please direct me in the right path & sorry if questions are stupid.

I included wedding photos where you can sew both families attended the event. But just 2, the rest were vacations at different times of the year, and different places.

In IMM5532, for past addresses & employment. Both of mine are way more than the space given in the form. Should I add another pages indicating those or just fill up the space in the form & leave it be... kindly answer it please

For anything that I needed more space, I simply added an Annex, and at the top I wrote my name, DOB, and what the annex was for (including form name) and put that directly behind that form.

did you actually showed them what companies you worked for in the past 5 years? Because I have changed companies very frequently and hence i do not have all the ROE's. will my income tax works ?

I'm not the sponsor, but my husband has had the same job for the past 5 years, so I don't know, but if you don't have something, I would suggest writing a note explaining so there aren't any gaps in your application.

List all your employment history like it asks. If you need more room attach an extra sheet as mentioned above. You do not need to include supporting documents for this section like ROE's or tax returns etc.
