Hi All,

I am hiring my friend from the Philippines to work as babysitter for my child, she mention that she is willing to work for free with me in return that I will take care of her processing fee, and application fee for Permanent resident and I will take care of everything she needs(food, boarding, basic needs). My question is, is that possible? will we be question by the Immigration or the CRA for that?

Thanks,
Enice

No - not possible. You will need to pay her a salary.

The work permit won't be approved unless you pay her a salary.

When you hire a caregiver from overseas one of the prerequisites is that you sign up for a caregiver payroll account with the CRA. It's MANDATORY. The IRCC will want a copy of the PD7A confirmation you have done so, as well that's where you'll remit the caregivers payroll taxes . Fedtax, CPP, EI, and issue her a T4 from that account. You'll be asked how much on a annual basis you will be paying the person. Nothing is not accepted, nor is rent, food provided
The PD7A goes in with your application to the IRCC
So no, you must pay the person an actual monetary salary

Is there age limit to apply for home support worker or Nanny jobs..??
Technically no. However if someone is too old (e.g. retirement age or close to retirement age), IRCC may question if they have the physical fitness to do the job.
