IMM 5532 questions (COMMON LAW SPONSORSHIP)

Hi, I am currently sponsoring my girl friend i.e. common law and i need assistance in 2 questions.

1. Part C question 7. In the table where i have to put in details of my close friends and family, what shall I put as "Relationship to sponsor or principal applicant' in case the person is a close friend? I was going to put Firend but I am under the impression that only relatives are considered to be related to me. If I do put friends, can I put that they related to BOTH even though they were my friends first and now friends with both me and my GF? Lastly, how accurate do we need to be about the date they met sponsor or principal applicant?

2. Were there formal ceremonies or events to recognize or celebrate your relationship, e.g., engagement ceremony, traditional or customary marriage
ceremony, commitment ceremony, partnership ceremony, reception, honeymoon, etc.?
Not sure how to answer this particular question as we are not married and have never heard of these ceremonies.

Not sure how to answer this particular question as we are not married and have never heard of these ceremonies.

Some cultures/couples have ceremonies of various types such as engagement ceremony or party even if not getting married. Or in some cases couples have religious ceremonies that don't qualify as civil marriage under the law. Or whatever else may be comparable.

For example, we included info on a christening and a 'welcome to the larger family' introduction event (party).

1. The relationship is friend. You put who they knew first. Exact date isn't needed.

2. Then you just answer that. The majority of common-law couples haven't had any ceremonies.
