I am from Pakistan. After reading this thread I got to know that I need a custody document from court for my son who is 13. I talked to the lawyer, he said that a document is made with the title of guardianship certificate but as discussed above it will not serve the purpose. It would be great if you can tell me the exact terminology used in Pakistan for this document.

Are there any specific wordings that custody document should have?

I have a court document "compromise letter" with different points and one point stating that child will remain in the custody of mother. I want to know if that document can serve the purpose.

Please guide.

Apply for express entry. Will depend on your work experience, age, education (usually 2 degrees) and language scores.

In some countries, the mother will have full legal custody by default if the father is not mentioned on the birth cert. There would be no need to go to court to get full legal custody. I've been through this situation and didn't need a court order. However if the father is registered on birth cert then yes a court order is required.

Yes. They will want to see that you have full custody or that the father has given approval that his daughter can leave the country.

If you have an infant have you looked at the cost of daycare? You would need to be earning a significant amount be able to afford to move to Canada as a single mother with a young child who will need childcare. For example in Toronto childcare can be +$2000/month and it is hard to find a spot. Many parents (mother or father) stay at home because all there paycheque would basically be paid to daycare and transportation costs to get to work. Having children especially young children is extremely expensive in Canada. I would strongly consider moving when your child is in kindergarten. At that point you may only need to pay for before and/or after school care. School hours are much shorter than work hours.

hi Reen. I never heard from Dev. I am in the exact situation as you. in my application, I attached the law of my country that states that if the father does not acknowledge paternity they only state the mother therefore I can't state the father as he has not acknowledged paternity that is the reason the certificate only shows me as the sole parent. I will let you know how it goes

If you are still married, yes and no.
But he doesn't need to obtain PR with your application. So you do not include him in the PR application but you do need to include his information in your application package and he still needs to pass everything for your PR application to be approved.
And he needs to pass medical and security, and provide police check.

For moving your kids to Canada, I think you need him to sign the form for you to take the kids with you. (not sure of the actual form number)

Dear Sirs,

I am a single mom from Serbia, father's name is not in my kids' birth certificate; we were not married, either. My son is 6 and I am 43.
I've university degree, speak English Russian some Polish and basic French; did not take IELTS yet and have just started looking for a job.

1. What is your reccomendation at what point and how to start working towards my immigration visa; 2. What type of visa; 3. How long would it take and how much will it cost approx., and 4. what about these agencies offering services?

I would not consider immigration without my child.

Please advise.
