I will be re-submitting a visa application for Canada again, And I do not have a related family member , just a friend in Canada, hence I wanted to know something.

In part of my Itinerary, I mentioned that I would be visiting a family friend. Is there a need for me to get an invitation letter from him as well? Please I would like to acertain this, just to be very sure.

Primarily tourism, nothing else. I am going for a vacation. I am putting together my Itinerary, hence I just thought I stopped by Grand Prairie, just to say hello. Hence this question came into my mind. Though I would not be staying much at his place anyways.

I think it’s good to attach an invitation letter so it will help to make your application more strong, i guess.

Let's back up a bit. You mentioned your motivation is tourism. Let's consider to scenarios and hopefully you can make a decision on where your case lies
A. You are a frequent traveler with past travel history of traveling to other countries (especially on Western hemisphere). You have enough financial ties and means to self-sponsor your travel.
B. You are primarily visiting to visit your friend. You need your friend to help you with accommodation without which you will not consider traveling.

For case a, providing invitation letter is not only optional, it can sometimes introduce more information than you are willing to confuse vo with (for ex your friends status). So no need to provide anything more than contact info of a friend you are visiting (say as part of itinerary)
For case b, above advice on this thread holds true. More information will help and you need an invitation letter to prove that your friend is willing to let you start at his place for the length of trip.
