So If I was working 40 hours a week (confirmed by my employer) for 5 years, my experience will still be counted as 5 Years??
Even though I was working additional 10 hours/week as per cic requirement !
You have not worked an additional 10 hours/week. IRCC defines full-time work as "30 hours or more" per week. So it doesn't matter if it is 30, 40, or 80 hours per week, it is just one full-time week.

IRCC provides the hourly equivalent for part-time workers to be able to calculate their full-time equivalence (which, by definition, takes longer than one year to gain one year of FTE experience). Since you are not part-time, it does not apply to you.

Five years of full-time experience is.. five years of full-time experience.

No.

It's 30 hours a week AND 12 months. It's 5 years.
Hi Kryton,

Work experience for less than 1 year ( 8 months) is regarded as 1 year or 8 months or none at all ?

Example : total work experience = 39 months = 3+ years
Breakdown : Job A : 8 months
Job B :13 months
Job C : 18 months

Are my calculations correct ?

Hello,

Further to the original subject of this thread, I wanted to confirm the consensus about changes dates after ITA.

The situation:
- Pre ITA I was claiming 3 years foreign work experience in NOC code (self employed) from Jan 2014 - Jan 2017.
- Post ITA I am currently considering moving the start of this to Sept 2013 - Jan 2017 instead.
- This is because the new date of Sept 2013 was when I left a full time job to become self employed for 3 years+
- I have invoices, tax returns and 3 client letters from this time

Here's the proposed overall timeline:
  • Foreign: Self-employed as NOC (full-time and not claiming/ in personal history) - April 2011 - October 2013
  • Foreign: Self-employed as NOC (part-time and not claiming/ in personal history) - October 2012 - Aug 2013
  • Foreign: Employed as NOC (full-time and not claiming/ in personal history) - October 2012 - Aug 2013
  • Foreign: Self-employed as NOC (full-time and claiming in work experience) - Sept 2013 - Jan 2017
  • Canada: Employed as NOC (full-time and claiming in work experience) - Feb 2017 - present
So, is it ok to extend the length of my foreign work experience slightly?
And in view of that, would my timeline above be ok if I explain in my LOE?

Many thanks in advance!
