Does anyone know how far in advance I can apply for a visitor visa for my parents to come to Canada for my wedding. I am reading 6 months in some places and 3 months in others. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

You can apply as much in advance as you want. There is no limit there . If you meant to ask what is a good time to apply, read above reply

Thank you for your response. my parents are using an agency in China and they stated that they would apply via paper and that the embassy in china does not accept applications until 3 months before... seems a bit strange as it doesn't give much time to get done and book flights

An agency won't improve anyone's chances for approval. They can apply online at this moment if they want, or you can apply for them on their behalf.

Thank you, i know an agency won't help. we did my PR application on our own and it was easier in my opinion to control everything. just one more quick question. My parents will be coming with my two aunts and uncle. am i able to put the entire application under one application in the GCKEY? I know aunts and uncles do not meet the definition of family member for CIC but I like the benefit of submitting everything together. Look forward to hearing from you. thanks again!

No, as you already surmised, only adults and their spouse and dependent children can apply in one account as family members. If those 2 aunts and uncles are all siblings, then they will need 3 separate accounts, for example.

You can submit everyone’s application within a short period of time and explain they’ll be travelling together.

An agency can have its own rules and requirements (on to of embassy rules). That is because of their own local arrangements/logistics of Visa application. If you were to apply on your own, you only need to follow Canadian embassy rules

Hi I witnessed a family got denied because they applied more than 3 months early from their travel date while I was waiting for my turn to have my biometrics taken. VSF global agent advised them to reapply 3months before their travel date.

Each condition is different and does not imply that it needs to be followed in all cases.

Many folks on these forums have regularly got Visa several months in advance and others have reported not getting a Visa even after providing an itinerary, finances

One additional question. I will be the representative for my Uncle Aunt and their grandchild. Given that they are not "family" under the cic definition are they considered tourist for the visa application? I assume i can still write them an invitation letter?
