1) No - you don't need a lawyer. No - it doesn't iincrease the chances of approval.Hi
I submited H&C application for my mother who is 65 year old on Aug 2 2018 through lawyer, I need to extend her visa, please share info on following
1) Do i need lawyer to extend her visa. Does it help?
2) My mothers visa(stamp on passport) is expiring on May 2020, Is it possible to extent the visa after the visa expiry date.
3) how many time a applicant is allowed to extend visa.
thanks
Not sure of your mother’s story but if she was able to get a visa to enter Canada she must have had strong ties to her home country. Filing H&C for parents does not always work out well as you can see from this decision.Hi

2) If you wait until after her stay expires, she will be out of status in Canada and it will be more difficult and more expensive to restore and extend her status.
3) There is no fixed number of times. It's entirely up to IRCC.

Hi! Yes, definitely. All the letters you can gather from them would help big time proving you’re contributing to the society here in Canada.Hi all members of the group
Greetings
I am new to this group and yet to file h and c application on the ground of best interest of child.
I am wondering , should I submit reference letters from the friends , church, temple as well ?
I have letters from volunteering as well where I have done volunteering.
Please let me know
Thanks
What is primarily important is to show proof of employment and prove that you are not using social services and continue to remain employed.Hi all members of the group

You should review the ruling in the post above. You need to show some relevance for your application to be successful. Not sure of your mother’s story but if she was able to get a visa to enter Canada she must have had strong ties to her home country. This is an entirely different situation than the best interest of a child. Why can’t you remain on a supervisa and apply and apply for PGP like other parents. Thanks for your reply
But my case is different
I am 69 years old and my son is a permanent resident of canada and lives here with his wife and three children. His children are 11 years old and two 6 months old. My son has a severe medical condition and needs my help with his medication and his specialist doctor has given a letter to us supporting our application.
I have a pension from my home country which I get into my bank account every month and withdraw here in canada because I have an international bank card. I have other savings as well to prove that I can support myself and my wife in canada without taking any social assistance and welfare. My wife is helping his newly born children.
Please let me know how can we improve our chances of approval
Thanks
What should the friends and church write in their reference letters ?What is primarily important is to show proof of employment and prove that you are not using social services and continue to remain employed.

How does your son need help with his medication? Most can be left in dosettes or prepacked by time of day by the pharmacy. His wife could also arrange his medication. What exactly are you doing medically for your son? You are taking a lot of risk by applying for H&C. If denied you will have difficulty ever visiting Canada again.
