Just got my passport back with COPR today! We will be doing the landing this next Tuesday when we go take care of some banking stuff and then the official moving next Saturday. I’m glad to say this is finally over. I would love to say it was fun while it lasted but it wasn’t, it was tough. My thoughts and prayers to everyone going through this awful process, don’t give up! Email them again and again, that seems to be the only thing that worked for us after several months of silence. Good luck to everyone!

It was all extremely fast actually, once they had my passport it only took a couple of days for them to stamp the visa! My passport was sent to the IRCC in NYC though so I don’t know how much of that was them or how much of that was Mexico

Help!!! My husband is in the final stage of our sponsorship application to Canada and they requested for him to get a federal policy certificate/check (NOT STATE) and in order for him to get this police check it requires a Cartilla militar (which he never did since he was in Canada until he was 25 doing college and high school. Please help! Is there any way to get exempt from this? We already passed the deadline to get a pre-Cartilla as well. Please let me know

Whenever you absolutely CANNOT send them something you should write a very detailed letter explaining why. Same if you can get it but it will take long.

I'm glad to see finally some moving in Mexico it was starting to be really slow there.

What police certificate is CIC asking for? Had PA resided in any other country, for more than 6 months, outside of Mexico? PGR ( Police Clearance Certificate from Mexico ) can be furnished only after CIC Mexico sends you a letter requesting it. The letter from CIC should mention clearly what police certificate they are asking for. Can you post your letter ( masking important details ) in this forum?

sample letter from embassy requesting PGR would look something like:

Hi I received the same letter, did you need to make an appointment with the FGR? Trying to call them but not going through.
Did you have to provide any other documents or only the letter? How long did it take them to provide you the certificate? Thanks for your help
