We just got an interview notice today. As we are Cuban applicants, we chose to go to Trinidad for the interview. So I answered with that response today, and now we wait for a date. I heard of someone who was told they needed an interview 3 weeks ago getting a date for December.

Well thank goodness you got some news too !
Sorry that you will have to travel for the interview . Yes we also were not provided a date so we continue to wait . I really hope we don’t have to wait too long as All we want is our families together again.

Sydney now process application completely inland for "some applications". And if we aren't sent yet that could def be the case. Is a nice statement, for what it worth haha , just saying.

This would definitely help move things along! Where did you hear about this? I'm a January 2019 applicant and my file is still in Sydney as well. In the last communication with IRCC, they told me and my MP that the criminality portion of the background check was complete. Is this portion normally done while still in Sydney?

I also mentioned to IRCC that I've heard that some applications are being processed out of Mississauga, instead of being transferred to Mexico. He told me that this is true, but of course gave no indication on what was going to happen to my file.

Someone said they try to remove backlog of vo's and waiting time, and a nice agent have told this to him and when they can pass some apps locally , they do. to avoid delay interview and blabla.

Simply, yes

The longest part is BGC eligiblity

So to resume there's an intake 1st verification office (where we send our apps) that does the AOR from start..and 1st approval (SA) then they decide if you are sent to a local vo if necessary or... they can do all the process at Sydney processing office directly

yeah i hope too.. as the agent was explaining to me not ALL apps are sent to vo..as in if they believe it's not that necessary to look at , they just skip and do the rest of process at Sydney or Missisauga then.. they ask the Vo to do the PPR

Well it's true is just that they select a few ones that they process inland (which would make sense... the mention "Back-Office program" (in ATIP notes) finally would mean this... but is def not all apps. But yeah is crazy how the wait is long to Mexico , they have to do something about it... We are almost at 9-10 months of wait , on a 12 months process.

My Notes had that "Back office Program" in the notes as well. I am now at 13 months and received an email that we are in queue for interview. you never can tell with cic, they are funny little creatures lol

well its most logical as your app is at mexico so after interview you are mostly done.

in my case is suspicious cause im at 8.5 months and still at Sydney never been asked a thing.

That’s awesome we have zero passed lol , eligibility in progress .... obviously because of interview , criminal and security not started . I’ve given up trying to figure it out . I just want a date for the interview so they can make us wait another three months for ppr haha

Someone asked me a day if i would redo this ? and the ONLY reason why i do is love and i intend her to be the last one in this chapter. We are married and gonna stick together 1st marriage for both and we wanna keep it that way

Yep I would do it all over again because my husband is 100000% worth it . But I would do it with a smoother more communication based process haha

Yeah the question was like if you were to do this all , the same process with same communication as lacking i don't think IRCC will change much things in the process even with years unless there's a wave of complaint
