I applied December 19th and my file was transferred August 12th so yes it does seem normal that your application hasn't transferred. However we did medical in February.
Hi everyone, I'm new here but I'm hoping I can get some feedback from you! I'm sponsoring my husband from Cuba, and the application was received Jan 21st, 2019. In GCKey, the background check shows its been in progress since May (this was when I first linked the application to my online account). I ended up reaching out to my MP in early July as I never received any updates from IRCC. She told me that IRCC had actually requested Biometrics in May, which I never received any notifications for. After my MP went back to them, they informed her that they added too many periods in my email address so that's why I never received the request. How does that happen?? Shortly after, they "re-sent" the request and my husband flew out to Guyana to have that done. Last week I called IRCC to get a status, and they let me know that the application is still at the Case Processing Centre in Nova Scotia. 8 months in and the application hasn't moved anywhere?

Does this seem normal?

I am sorry to hear that the made that clerical error, hopefully your case gets processed sooner. It seems they have some incompetent people working at IRCC

I last I heard December 2018 files were still been transferred. And many Cuban files from 2018 back as far as May have still
Not been completed. We did receive our Ppr aug 30, and we are now over 3 weeks still waiting on visa stamping in Mexico. Take my advice when your ppr request arrives, do your stamping in Havana as they have reopened. The Mexico route is extremely slow. But we got caught up
In the Havana closure. And going into 16 months. Be patient, it is a brutal process.

Do vac’s give you a tracking number? We enclosed a prepaid fedex airway bill, which Tracks at dispatching. I heard the were visas stamped yesterday that arrived the exact same time as mine, but ours is not stamped yet.

So far I know that my passport was stamped on sep 6 and my gckeys was updated on sep 9 telling me that my process was finished, but for some reason they havent dispatched the passport, I sent it through the VAC office and I have the tracking number but the website is not working properly and I contacts through chat support and they mentioned that is still on the consule pa canada

Do the vac have their own courier? That’s terrible to be stamped this long. By others they said the counterfoil got updated in
The gckey the same day as stamping. But I guess not. There seems to be a backlog for sure. Hoping you get yours soon
Too.

Thats for sure! I had to fly my husband to Guyana to get the biometrics done (which was an $1800 trip), and a week later the news came out that they reopened in Havana for biometrics and visa dropoff/pickup. Ugh. Really hoping they reopen for medicals in Havana soon too. This is too much stress for everyone.

Wow 16 months is absolutely crazy. Wishing you all the best and hoping yours is almost complete!
