Oh I did the same thing and it was a total waste of time. The MP did not tell me anything different from what I read on the website. I even spoke to him yesterday. He left a message on my phone no update to my file.

I believe that will happen to me as well
I just called and left them a message to know whats happening, i hope they will call me back asap

Submitted Passport today and hoping to get it back in couple of weeks.

Are you still waiting for your PPR? When did you apply?

@Eida I have personally found that some MP's are not helpful. You have to be patient and I found sending an email sometimes to the VO is more helpful.

I already sent 4 emails (web forms) to my VO but no answer since july
But, I found out yesterday that my MP sent the consentement form to the VO so he can be able to contact them on behalf of my husband... so I hope it works

Btw, my friend's wife got her ppr yesterday after her husband's Mp contacted the VO (Cairo) so I hope it will be the same for us

Hi,

Feel free to ask questions, share thoughts and seek advice.


What happens after submitting my application?


If your application is complete, you will receive Acknoledgment of Receipt (AOR1) whithin 60 days, usually 45 to 56 days via email.


Then, if eligible, the sponsor will receive the Sponsor Approval email(SA) which contains the UCI (Unique Client ID) and application number to use for tracking the status of the application.



Then, if not submitted with the application:


1. Police Check Certificate Request(PCC)

2. Medical Exam Request

3. Request to pay for PR Card (RPRF)

4. Request to submit additional documents, 5. Request for any additional documents that were missing from your application.


At this stage, you can check the status of your application online(ECAS) or link your application to GCKEY.


Then you might receive a file transfer email to the Local Visa Office(VO).

Thank you so much for helping. I have couple question regarding my application that I sent it in August 2018 and recently they ask for biometric check and I did that and I submitted that on July 26, 2019. the application takes more than one year and when I emailed the visa apartment in UK. the answer was that the biometric check could take between 6 months - 12 months from the date that submitted. is that normal. I really appreciate if you can tell me what to do in this case. I have Swedish passport and my wife is Canadian citizen.
also when I track my application, the last step showed that medical result has been received and the biometric thing doesn't show at all.
could you please tell me what to do, its been more than one year.

If your wife is living in Canada currently, she can check online who is the member of Parliament representing her city. Then she can find their phone number or email and can contact them. They usually answer fast, but most of the time they won't really help (in some cases, yes).
