hello everyone,
My name is Abhinav Diwan. I have applied for my PR under EE with a non accompanying spouse. I am expecting my PR very soon and therefore have started researching about spousal PR. I have certain doubts which I wanted to ask:
1. How soon after reaching Canada can I start the process ?
2. Outland or inland ?
3. Can I apply for a visitor visa for my spouse and daughter, if yes, should I do it before or after filing for PR.
4. What are the chances of getting their TRV approved ?

The process takes upto 12 months and my wife and daughter are not ready to wait for this long. Kindly suggest the way out. I desperately need to apply for a visitor visa for them and also get it approved.
Kindly share your valuable suggestions.
TIA

1. Immediately if you have the funds to support your family without government support.
2. If your family can’t reach Canada it has to be Outland. Both have similar processing times.
3. You can try but it will be evident that you are applying for or have PR and have applied as non-accompanying. It will also depend on how strong your wife’s ties are to her home country like longterm good job, property in her name, etc.
4. Pretty low but definitely would try before you are granted PR. Unfortunately if you apply for non-accompanying there are consequences.

Thank you very much for the prompt and detailed reply. Grateful to you. Just a couple of follow up questions:
1. In my application, I did show funds for the complete family. Does this mean I can initiate the spousal pr process as soon as I get my pr card ?
2. I have read somewhere that after AOR is received( in spousal pr application), the sponsor can apply for the sponsored’s visitor visa, is that correct and what would u suggest if it should applied before or after initiating process ?

Finally how can family ties be illustrated in the application? My wife is a homemaker but has some assets here, she files her income tax returns and her parents in law have to be taken care of. Would these reasons help build up the case ?

Apologise for bombarding you with these questions.
TIA

1. You can sponsor as soon as you have landed in Canada and become a PR.
2. There is no such rule. You can apply for a TRV at any time.

You want to demonstrate ties to the home country in the TRV application such as employment, property ownership, etc. Your wife cannot demonstrate strong family ties to her home country given you are in Canada. Your parents are not a tie.

But how would I show my employment while I am in Canada. Can share my ownership docs though. All this while I was thinking that the sponsored needs to prove family ties.
Thank you very much for info.

You don't need to be employed to sponsor your spouse for PR.

The applicant does not need to show family ties to the home country for a spousal sponsorship application.

Congrats (Belated ) on PPR, any inputs on the questions being asked at port of entry regarding non accompanying spouse?
