Hi everyone,

Finally, I'm planning to do soft landing from India in October and stay in Canada for 10 days. I won't be able to get PR card till 2 months however, I have read that I can go back to Canada with PRTD. I have few queries regarding the same

1. Processing time in India to get PRTD ?
2. What are the documents required to get PRTD ?
3. Any chance of rejection in getting PRTD ?
4. If PRTD is issued or I applied for PRTD as single and there is change in marital status after that, will that cause any issue?
5. Can I book ticket only after getting PRTD ?
6. Is it fine to use PRTD even if PR card is received (with the help of my cousin from Canada to India) before I board the flight? Reason behind asking this is that I might have booked tickets using PRTD considering that is required to book the ticket.

In addition to above questions, I had to renew passport as my passport is getting expired in 6 months and I wasn't able to book ticket. If I apply ticket using new passport, will that create any issue or should I book ticket using old one ? [ I don't think that is possible] . And should I inform IRCC about new passport ??

I think you should review this information about PRTD
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5529-applying-permanent-resident-travel-document.html
It looks like something you can only apply for after you land and are confirmed as a PR so I think you have to apply in Canada. Perhaps if you check other threads about soft landing persons who have already done it can give you good advice

You can't book a ticket with an old passport. If you have CoPR stamped in your visa already they you shouldn't jave to update CIC but you can call an agent to confirm what to do.

Buddy I don't know why but you tend to complicate things in your mind and then keep asking same questions again and again. I get that it is stressful but there are many things that you can simply check online.

I think @legalfalcon already answered your question on passport. There is no need to inform IRCC on new passport. Simply carry the new one and the old one with Immigration visa stamped on it.

Your information of getting PR card in 2 months is incorrect. check the processing times on IRCC website. It is 13 days recently and not 2 months.

Although I don't like giving unsolicited advise on public forum .. but well you tagged me so here it goes .. You need to calm down and be a little more organized. Yeah it helps to be aware of situations but there is no point in playing out 100s of permutations and combinations without doing basic research.

All the best for your landing!

Sorry. I'm asking questions on 2 different forums so I forgot about passport thing completely which legalfalcon already replied in last post. I'm really sorry.

And yes, I understood point & answers and thanks for advice :)

And yes, I was trying to get info about PRTD. I read the link which was shared by another member regarding PRTD but couldn't get answers of few questions so asked here.. I'd be grateful if anyone can reply..

Regarding PR card, thanks for pointing out processing time. I will try to find info on how to get PR card and what things are required. Hope you can help me if I'm unable to find few things, if you don't mind.
