With what I have gathered on the forum, backgrounds usually starts when ELIGIBILITY has been passed, why would they start background/security and spending money and resource if PA's eligibility is not passed? So, common sense says everything starts after Pre-Arrival. Here is good thread you could read that explains the Security/Background check:
Nothing much, the email entails names of few service providers which are free of cost and just says be prepared before you land in Canada.
This is pre arrival letter. I also registered with pre arrival program and they send me all kinds of letters as well. But not fork ircc.
I got the Pre Arrival in GC Key Account from NDVO on 25th July but this new email is something new that CIC has started I feel.
Truly speaking, have no any idea... maybe you could post what letter says and someone else here will be able to tell you what it is?!
Ya, I got the same. Basically a reminder of all mentioned in the pre-arrival mail... A little teaser for what we could get IF only we can finally go.

Sure do hope so! Thing is that my medical will expire in December and I hope they won't ask for a new one. I still hope we can move over to C before the end of the year. This waiting game is just so surreal, we were already dreaming of spending our summer in Canada. Meanwhile we have to make do with one of the worst summers Ireland has known.

did you connect your mp? I keep rereading posts from here and see that for certain countries background check takes 6 months and even more, but usually for European countries it is just few months. Anyway, it’s immigration... you never know! Just stay positive and relax! Good news will come when you don’t expect it! And then you will just move on with your life and can finally have a normal family life! By the way, u need visa to go Canada? Why worst summer there?(((Honestly, I don't really see the point of contacting a mp (yet) My wife and our daughter are living with me in Ireland, so at least we are not separated, but my wife is homesick and tired of all the rain and lack of sunshine in Ireland. I don't need a visa to go to Ireland as I'm from the Netherlands and my application should be straightforward, but I've been to some 65 countries and a lot of them probably red flag material. So my fear is that they may have put me in an extra thorough security screening...Than I would keep luggage packed
Oh, I would knock on all doors and connect mp. They are there to help us... I think))) Seen here cases that stuck moving after mps inquire...
well, if you stayed there longer than 6 months than maybe, it could take longer... not necessary though... I think it is more about when the next time officer will pick up your file and when the reports for background check will be ready...
