Yes, they always have a choice whether to go with the NOI or to accept the direct ITA (Obviously, the latter option is preferred more if there is a favourable draw for them). Well, as the cut-off was 457 in the previous draw, so the folks with same and above crs must have accepted the direct ITA and saved themsleves from a hefty amount of 1500 CAD.

They're given the 45 days deadline to make decision wisely and hold themselves for the draws meanwhile if they have any chances !

Pls house I have a question, is reference letter for spouse important to be submitted during application process?

Excellent analysis!.. although I was wondering previously about the reason of the sudden rise in the monthly rate of 451-600 applicants compared to the last 2 years, beside the reason of the drop in the no. of ITAs to 3350 and the delay in rising it to 3900..but we can never find an answer to these questions which will affect the long term scores...good work bro and hopefully things become better!

Guys, I am already PR in Canada. I got married in may and she's in india with 430 points. She'll need to update her profile in Express entry to married. Want to know, what should she answer to question where it is asked "Whether Family member is accompanying"?

She need to update profile to married n spouse as Canadian PR. .. I think tht will get extra points but will need marriage certificate for that... But one question y don't u opt. Spouse program. ..

I have applied his passport last week and it takes 6 weeks to get the passport. Should I wait or I can submit my application and once I have his passport then I can update the details with IRCC?

Hello, congratulations to everyone who received ITA, I have a question- My spouse's ECA is due to be completed by September 10th and that would boost up our points to 457 from 454, can I add ECA reference number to my profile now for the Sept 4 draw? I'm sure about the boost in our points but if we receive ITA on September 4th and our ECA report says September 10th, would that be an issue? Thanks in advance.

Based on the following statement from IRCC, you must NOT do it.


“Under section A11.2, an officer may not issue a visa to an applicant who did not or does not meet the Express Entry minimum entry criteria (MEC) or did not or does not possess the qualifications for which they received their CRS score at the time when

• the invitation to apply (ITA) was issued; or
• the e-APR was received by IRCC.

When reviewing an application, processing offices must determine if

• the applicant possesses the qualifications that they declared in their e-APR, as corroborated by the applicant’s supporting documentation; and
• when the applicant submits their e-APR, the information provided in their Express Entry profile has not materially changed to the degree that the applicant would not have been issued an ITA in that round of invitations.
