Yes, you can mention only these two companies in your profile and post ITA, put the 1st company in the personal history section as you are not claiming any points.
Can you please confirm calculation of work duration for the following work periods? Does CIC calculate DD/MM/YYY wise orMM/YYY wise?
1)Company A: 2nd Aug 2013 to 21st Nov 2014
2) Company B: 22nd Dec 2014 to 5th Aug 2016
3)Company C: 1st Oct 2017 to 31st Aug 2018

Is the total coming out to 3 years 11 months?

4) Current company: 12th Sept 2018 to Present

All are full time paid jobs with 45 hours per week.
I may not be able to get refernece letter from current employer in required format so was thinking of moving it to 'Personal History' if it doesn't impact max points for 3+ years of experience?

Company C was paying salary in cash with no slips and it wasn't a tax deductible amount hence no returns filed. If the gross salary and this disclaimer is mentioned on the refernece letter surely signed and stamped, would it raise any red flags by CIC?

TIA

Hi Friends,
As I am facing the same confusion regarding job experience. I have 5 years of job experience in IT field as a software engineer. I had a gap between jobs. Does it affect my points in PR. And does the current job will be is consider in point.?
Do I have to show the only job which satisfies my Point..?

Right now I working in different fields, Does the current job creates hurdle in the point system.

As long as your present employment is not your primary NOC I think you should be fine moving it to your personal history. You will not be asked for reference letter for it. If company C's letter has all the required details:salary, hours, duties, title, your name, duration of employment, you should be OK. All the best.

Hi Sir,

Thank you for your reply.

What if NOC B is satisfied with all the requirements, should I go with NOC B.?

One more question, what if I had worked with Company A & B, both with a different profession,
Company A: 1 Dec 2015 to April 2018, (Title: lab analyst)
Company B: 05 Sept 2018 to 08 Aug 2019 (Title: coordinator)

Company A experience with full time paid job, but the company gives me a salary in cash, the company is not providing a salary slip, but it gives declaration, about experince, designation, work experince letter, duration, duties and so on company letterhead. Is it ok to prove the job is genuine, with letterhead. the company is ready to provide the necessary documentation, about my job.

I want to put my file with NOC A due to higher experince.

It is ok..? or should salary slip & payslip, bank account statement is compulsory to prove job..?

April 2016- Feb2017(Full time. 11 months. 45 hours)
March 2017 - Aug 2017 (6 months 20 hours)

The company remains the same, however, in between my employment i worked as a part time for 6 months due to family issues. Can someone help me in calculating the experience. Thank you

Hi beautiful people,

Great that there's such a topic. I was so desperate to find the right answer that almost started searching for a lawyer:)

My experience is as follows - there are a few earlier experiences as well, but they'll go to personal history (different NOC, unable to obtain genuine proof, etc)

In my home country:
Sep 4th, 2013 - June 29th, 2017 - work experience I claim for points, I already have the reference letter

In the US:
August 2017 - June 2018, full-time studies, no work,

June 4th - August 10th 2018 -- full-time internship (40 hours per week)
August 20th 2018 - May 17th 2019 -- part-time internship (20 hours per week)
- OPT delay gap -
July 1st 2019 and on -- full-time, all same company

Do I ever need bother calculating the recent work experience in the USA and ask for reference letters, or will my 'little less than 4 years' in the home country suffice for the maximum CSR score?

Thank you!

Hi,

Work Experience: I have been working since September-2010. I completed my Bachelors degree ( 4 years degree, equivalent to Canadian 3 years degree, ECA Approved) in April 2015. I would like to add here that I have worked full-time since 2010 and my Bachelors degree was distance learning so I was able to manage both together. My question here is will my work experience before 2015 will not be counted or will it be counted part-time?

Hi All,

I have a question. While filling up the work history in express entry profile. It asks for start and end date in Month and Year only. If we have experience as 2 years 11 months and 10 days. This will be considered as 3 years?

ex Start date : 25 August 2015
End date. : 8 August 2018

EE will consider it as 3 years experience. and If yes, This should not cause any issues with points claim as it is automatically calculated by system.

Can anyone help me with this?

@legalfalcon - Requesting your help on this. EE profile doesn't have any way to enter data in dd/mm/yyyy and with mm/yy its calculating it as 3 years. CIC agent was not helpful at all and said whatever is asked in whichever format provide accordingly.

well that is true, but as long as you have completed 1 year in any acceptable NOC trade, the rest after that are cumulative.
So can i say it this way?
Once I have an experience of at least 1 year, all other experiences (no matter it is before or after that 1-year experience) can be counted?

Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

I have total work experience below is a break down:

Employment 1: Feb. 2016 - Dec. 2016 - NOC 2171 - Paid Full-Time (40 Hours) - Employer A - Software Quality Assurance Engineer
Employment 2: May 2017 - June 2018 - NOC 2171 - Paid Full-Time (40 Hours) - Employer A - Software Quality Assurance Engineer
Employment 3: July 2018 - Current - NOC 2174 - Paid Full-Time (40 Hours) - Employer B - Software Engineer II

I was recently told that I can't claim points for my Employment 1 as it is not continuous 1 year. But I have two other employments which are of continuous 1 year - Employment 2 and Employment 3.

Per Express Entry requirement, I am allowed to claim points for all my employment if worked Full-Time at 1 job for continuous 1 year. Are there any concerns for me not to claim points for Employment 1?

I have created my profile and entered these Work Experience as above and got points for 3 years total. Do I have to remove my Employment 1?

Before June 1 2019, my CRS score was 426 and now its 451. I gained 25 more points to complete 3 years it seems.

Below is from my profile:
Your score is based on your education, job experience and relevant qualifications (for trade occupations).

Skill transferability
Criteria Score
CRS - Skill Transferability - Education 50
CRS - Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience 50
CRS - Skill Transferability - Certificate of Qualification 0

Any help would be appreciable!!

Hi! I have exactly the same situation as you.
i would like to heard from you if there is any update for your case. Thank you so much.

NO,you should have completed three years or more than that.
but now you can mention 2 years in EE and update later to three years,i think
Hi there guys, just had a query: if someone works 5 months PT (less than 15 hours a week) and then rest of the work is 30 hours FT, then do you think the 5 months (less than 15 hours per week) would add to the continuous work history?

To be eligible, it needs to be continuous full time in one NOC. if it is continuous and equals one year full time in the same NOC and breaks, you should be fine.
