Just a little puzzled. Kasi 'yung kasama ko po, pareho kami ng program. 'Yung sa akin ang binigay is for 2 years kasi for 2 years 'yung program. 'Yung sa kanya, up to 2020 lang po. so valid only for 1 year. ang sabi sa kanya ng consultant, pag ganun daw kelangan na lang niya mag-renew ulit next year. So I was wondering, ano kaya po ang rationale behind that? Or when does the IRCC decide to give a visa valid for the entire studies' duration vs. when does it decide to give "partial"? Medyo mahal din kasing mag-renew e.

Hi. She/he may have submitted a passport that will expire next year? Canada doesn't give documents with expiry dates past the passport expiration date (unlike the US). He can renew next year.
