Hi Stmystics,

Thank you very much for your prompt response. Really appreciate that. But I have read somewhere in the this forum that ece degree or diploma is "employment requirements" but the thing that matter is "Jobs and Duties " in that NOC for which you can file a case for PNP or EE. Please clarify. Looking forward to hear
I can't really tell and I haven't read the other post. If in your transcript you have courses related to early childhood then I believe you should be ok. Will try and see if I can send you a copy of my degree and experience classification from the department of early childhood in Nova scotia. I sent this letter to support my application, at least to speed up the process. Send me your email and I will send you a copy of the letter I received from them.

Here it is:

Dear XXX:

Please accept this letter as confirmation that you have been pre-approved to receive an Entry

Level Classification for work as an early childhood educator in Nova Scotia.

Proof of your training was submitted in the form of an Early Childhood Educator Level I from

Saskatchewan. In Nova Scotia, this certification equates to the qualifications for an Entry Level

Classification. A person holding an Entry Level classification is recognized as meeting the

minimum requirement to work with children birth to age 12 in a licensed child care facility.

As per Regulation 37C, of the Day Care Act and Regulations the qualifications for a Level 1

classification requires the completion of the orientation training, any coursework and workplace

training specified in Standards or the completion of a 1-year certificate in early childhood

education. Regulation 37D, states the qualifications for a Level 2 classification requires the

completion of a diploma in early childhood education.

While your application has been approved, Classification Services are unable to send certificate

packages internationally. When you arrive in Nova Scotia, please contact Classification Services

and provide a mailing address to update your file. Upon receipt of this information, you will be

assigned a registration number and a classification certificate will be mailed to you.

Should you require further information, please email classification@novascotia.ca or contact

Julia MacKenzie, Classification Officer at 902 424 3431.

Yours truly,

Thank you for sharing this. It helps a lot. Just want to ask though how did you send the requirements needed? Did you attach all the required docs altogether and send through a courier?

I scan everything and send them through email. It is faster.
If your ECA was done by WES, you can request to also get a course by course evaluation. Then they can send everything to the Department of Education in Nova Scotia, in this way they can look at each course and see if some of them were specific on early childhood.
