Absolutely, me and my partner checked every single line on every page for 5(!) times and on the 6th time I Found a missing
So 2 of us could not see the mistake for 5 times!
That’s very tricky and everyone should be very careful when filling those forms in.

Hello friends,
Just to let you guys know, my father passed away last week, and as because there is no way to renew my Syrian passport, I have requested an update to my file to be processed as "Urgent".
Has anybody been through this kind of situation were s/he applied for urgent processing after applying and while the application is In Process?
How long does it take for them to change my application?
Do they change the whole family application or only mine?

Can someone tell me what's in process means ? ... does it mean it's still in Sydney office and they start looking into the file ? or it's in a local office ? ... will there be a line saying transferred to local office with office name ?

File is transferred to your local office when u receive your AOR. There will be no line in ECAS regarding transfer of file. Office closet to your current home address will process your application.

That's my understanding too, heard the same from other people but just wanted to confirm, what they told me is they start working on the file in Sydney (security), after it passed this stage, then it will go to the local office for processing.

kk..I just wish thy were a lil more transparent. The time between AOR i though was to do all those checks but I guess not

Thank you all for your condolences.

I've just called them this morning, and informed them that I have submitted an online request via the web form. I have also attached the death report.
The agent was so friendly, she went through my information available at the CIC, confirming my address, phone(s) and email address.
After that, she told me that the request takes 10 business days and that I have to wait for the officer's feedback on the next step.

I just called to be curious and they said that it's currently in transit from Sydney to Ottawa!
