I got the update on my medical just today... and asked for biometrics. Any idea if background check depends on biometrics result as I an asked to finish within 30 days....

Nope. Back ground is a separate criteria. That will go on even after you have finished your biometric

If an applicant has a child (accompanying or not), your medicals are mandatory. However, if the whereabouts of the child are not known, and if the applicant does not have the custody of the child, it will suffice and IRCC will not mandate that you submit the medicals.

However, the application will not be able to sponsor the child in the future.

I received the following message in my Email just now:

"Sir,

This refers to your application for Permanent Residence in Canada.

Please print and read the attached letter.

We inform you that your application has been transferred to Mexico. Therefore, your RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) check should be re-directed to our office in Mexico once available."

I don't know what does this means. Is this a good or a bad thing? They asked for an RCMP Certified police check on June 20th. I applied for it on June 25th and I am still waiting for it. Am I supposed to submit the physical copy to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico?

Guys.
A very kind request to all of you.
Please do not call CIC just to check your application status or asking your processing centers (it won't make the process faster). The IRCC has limited number of employees in their call center handling numerous calls (out of which 80% are for status checks - could be avoided easily). This causes a serious problem for people with urgent/genuine issues since they have to wait hours just to get hold of a human when calling CIC call center.
Guys, I understand your impatience and anxiety but please think about those people who really need to get through the automated system for their urgent issues.
