Hi,

In the CIC website for CEC, it is mentioned that '' The “Employment Requirements” listed in the NOC occupational description are not applicable''

Does it mean that '' Employment requirements is not a factor for Pass/Fail under CEC?
i.e - Even a business mgt candidate can do a technical job (0, A, B) and can claim for points under CEC ???

Can someone throw light on this?

Thanks in advance

i have started my work from 1 jan and uptill 14 oct my contracted hours per week were 15, from 15 oct to 31 dec they made me full time and my contracted hours upto 37.5, among this whole one year i did lot of extra hours above 500 hours and they all are paid , as i worked as a healthcare assistant so i am supposed to work max hours than my contracted hours... will they be counted as one year for my atlantic immigration program? my total hours including extra Hours are 1560
I already covered this in a previous post.

We don’t count any hours you work above 30 hours/week.

Once you have accumulated 30 hours in any specific week, any extra hours of work are discarded.

No - unfortunately this won't be counted as a year of work experience. To claim a year of work experience you need 52 separate weeks where you worked at least 30 hours. Extra hours cannot be carried over to form extra week. Each week you worked 30 hours or more is counted as a single week only - it doesn't matter if you worked 30 hours, 40 hours or 80 hours that week.

Hello guys, I started working full-time at my current job on May 30th, 2018. Prior to that date I was working part-time for 4 month prior to May at the same position, 15 hours per week roughly, sometimes more, sometimes less. My job offer states that I work 40 hours per week. When should I apply for Express entry? Thank you in advance.
You are going to have to do the math. But going by your rough estimates, your 4 months of approximately 1/2 time work is the equivalent of abt 2 months of full-time work. So you would need to work another 10 months full-time to be eligible. (Strictly speaking, 52 weeks).

Hi,

There are a few reasons they do not apply. Consider - When applicants chose an NOC, they may be doing this for work experience outside of Canada. It would be ridiculous to demand that foreign work experience conform to Canadian standards.

If the work experience is in Canada, the employment requirements DO apply for regulated occupations (e.g. doctor, nurse, electrician...), but not for most occupations.

There is also some common sense. Someone who studies art history is not trained to be an engineer. But some occupations can be learned on the job and may not require targeted education/training (e.g. cook, business occupations). Computer programmers are often self-taught. So - it's a great big "IT DEPENDS."

Officially, IRCC cannot refuse you because of employment regulations. But they can use that information in assessing the credibility of your claimed work experience; usually there would be more than one red flag to make them look at this, however.

i.e - Even a business mgt candidate can do a technical job (0, A, B) and can claim for points under CEC ???
Not sure what you mean by 'business management candidate." But, IT DEPENDS. you'd have to be more specific about the "technical job."

Hello all you!
I also have a question. I applied for my PGWP (for 1 year) Dec 27, 2018. I believe it will start counting since that date until Dec 27, 2019. Yet, I will start working as a full-time professional since Jan 2, 2018. I counted the weeks from that date until Dec 27, 2019 and there are exactly 52 weeks. Do you think is that okay for my express entry application or I will need to withdraw my application and start a new one - before Jan 2nd?

If you don't start work on the date that your PGWP begins, it's not possible to gain the required 365 days (~52 weeks) of actual full time working required for a CEC application. You actually have to work, not just have a PGWP.

Hi guys,

I have some issue on my working experience

I am working as English teacher in my country (I chose NOC 4021, really appreciate if you can give some comment for this NOC picking) with fulltime contract (stated clearly in the contract) since 01 May 2018.

However, since to the nature of this job, is is said in the contract that I only work for 60 hours/month ~ 15 hours/week. Yet this teaching hour only account for a part of my working time, beside work hours for developing curriculum, prepare teaching material, etc. I made the calculation for last whole working year as 900 hours.

So may I ask for your help on following:
1. Am I eligible for applying EE in FSW stream?
2. I found some of your comments that you said if the job is fulltime, CIC will not consider work hours anymore? Can you please share this information source?
3. I am still working on this job, so if i submit my application on this Kuly or August, the experience would last more but still can not reach 1560 hours. Please suggest me some way I could go!

Really appreciate your time and anything you can help!

Have a nice weekend!

Cheers,

Tony

Under CEC class, work experience does not need to be continuous. You just need to acquire 52 weeks of full-time work (or the equivalent in part-time work) within the previous 3 years, to meet the 1 year requirement. And no, it does not need to be in the same field, nor same NOC...

hi All:

I just noticed that the work experience requirement has been changed to 30hr/week which works out to 1560 hrs for the year..so If i did accumulate the 1560 hours in less than a year ..can i still apply under CEC right away or do i have to wait for a whole year and then proceed?

cheers
Here's the thing - any hours you worked more than 30 per week are not counted. 30 hours a week is the maximum that IRCC will use in its hours calculation. 30 hours * 52 weeks = 1560 hours. You have no choice but to work full-time for 12 months to meet the requirement because of the way they calculate hours.
