Just my two cents, the person might have other nationality, but I would like to provide a little context for our situation, Venezuelans don't have that choice, if you wish to renew a passport you have to pay up to 10000 USD to get it or you can also for eternity for it to arrive
The government created a passport extension program to solve this, but nowadays people are waiting for 4-6 months to get the famous sticker to extend the validity of your passport for 2 years

My wife's passport expires in November and she cannot leave the country if the passport does not have 6 months of validity. We are not requesting any extension nor a new passport as we are hoping to God that the PPR comes around August, which still gives her 3 more months to enter Canada. I have personally gone for a short trip down the border with a 2 months validity passport and came back to Canada with no questions asked at the border, so I am hoping it is the same for her

Oh, I received on Wednesday the email indicating that the application was being sent to Mexico and providing instructions to apply for CSQ, our application was received in Sydney on July 26th, 2018...
My wife is from Venezuela as well. I submitted my application on September and they received on Sept 6, 2018. Application received by Mexico on March 12,2019(AOR2). It's been total of 10 +, months now and I still haven't heard from them. My wife passports expires in April 2020 and I am super worried about this. My wife basically have until November 2019 to leave the country otherwise she stuck there. Seriously lost of words on what to do now. My wife upset with all this. 4-5 years of waiting. I'm hope our application is not that complicated, as we got married in Buenos Aires 2 1/2 years ago. Both same age and first time marriage with no criminal backgrounds. So I really just don't get what is taking so long.

We heard absolutely nothing for 8 months. You will not receive constant or regular communications. You can order your notes if you want to see. This is one of the slowest vos. Dont expect fast processing here
I think that is taking too long without any update, I would to request notes to see what is going on because some of the files are already expired and they might request a new one but nothing change on gckeys or ECAS
Ha Ha. Yeah. Goodluck with tthat one. Our AOR2 in Mex was Feb.28 and nothing since then.
It is indeed a very long wait and this is what I am expecting too, applicant and myself are forgetting about it for now until we get close to November. It took 3 months and 13 days for our file to be transferred to Mexico. I wished it was transferred to Mississauga but alas. We all hope for the best even though we know how it is.

Notes have been ordered and dont really have anything interesting to say. It really isnt too long as I have seem members say 8-9 months of silence. To be honest yes i would like to know whats going on but , I have patience and know that when its our time its our time. I am not banking on the 12 month mark, as mexico VO is not living up to that in many many cases. Im just going to wait it out and one day get that golden email

Consider yourself lucky and good for your that your file was transferred to VO MEXICO in 3 months. My file still has NOT been transferred to VO Mexico and I already passed the 6 month mark since application was received by CIC. Almost 5 months now of dead silence and not knowing when my file will be moved to Mexico.

in order to get the notes, does my wife need to sign the paper too? Trying to avoid this, cause the place they go to print and scan stuff is in dangerous neighborhood.
