Still nothing, to be honest at this point I just want my money back from the college and do something else.. but they wont give it back without a study permit rejection letter. The whole thing is starting to feel like a canadian government-sanctioned scam. I hope other UK residents that are considering studying in canada get to read this thread so they can be better informed of what might just happen if they apply.

Problem is no one reads these really unless you are like us coming looking for answers.

So I finally received an update today:

Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

I think my second complaint may have had something to do with it, in any case lately i've started to like where i'm living now and stopped being interested in paying the extortionate international tuition fees and living in a Toronto basement, so this works out for me!

I'm still pretty damned outraged that they took 7 and a half months to give me a decision though.

OMG. That is awful to take 7 months to say no. Surely they could have decided that from first assessing your profile.
Did you send a bad complaint recently?
I am glad you finally know though and you feel okay with the decision. Now you can stop thinking about it and move one! .
Did you get an email when your account updated or tou just saw when you checked?
So shitty - but again good if you are okay with the outcome now.
