Hello everyone.

My brother and I both have offers from universities from Canada and wanna apply for a visa. Should he apply first then me? Should we apply at the same time? We plan on using the same bank statement and have enough for ONE of us. What is it that we can do?

Thank you

Only one of you should apply. Since you are siblings and will need to declare the other, the officer assessing the application will be able to access the bank statement you and your brother will present. If you do not have enough money for the both of you, then it is highly likely one or both of you will be rejected.

Hey! Thank you for replying! :D

What do you mean we have to declare each other? During what stage? Like, during the process does it ask if anyone has applied to Canada before? I was thinking I apply first (get it or not) and then after I'm done he can too. Is this not a good option??

By the way, sorry for the dumb question. Thanks again for helping! :)

If you use the SAME bank statement for both applications, then you are misrepresenting your application. You said you only have the funds for ONE person. Flip a coin

If you use the same statement for both, and you both receive a PFL, then you both will be denied and banned, then the choice will be made for you

What do you mean by declaring the other. Whats the interval when doing it one after the other. Does one have to go the embassy and settle first? Before the other applies for the visa?

on family information form. It doesnt really matter how you guys want to proceed, but each applicant will be treated as separate with separate requirement

That would be committing immigration FRAUD, if you use the same documents for 2 separate persons application. One or both of you may face a 5 year ban and a permanent immigration fraud record on your file.
