Its funny how in the reminder emails CIC added an additional "M" to the address where application needs to be sent.

CPC-M-PGP
PO BOX 8020, STN T CSC Ottawa, ON
K1G 3H6

v/s
CPC-PGP
PO Box 8020 STN T CSC OTTAWA ON
K1G 3H6

Now, I did submit my application after I got the reminder email but I still posted it to CPC-PGP.

I hope that would still be okay?

Unfortunately no. Even though the rest of the address is identical, that at the time of sending your application it was CPC-PGP, that you likely received a signature to confirm receipt via Canada Post, this is a fatal error. Your parents application will now be rejected.

End sarcasm.

Of course it's completely fine. It's great that we have a community here that is always on the ball and picks up even these small details, but we really need to relax a little sometimes.

8 weeks since file was received in Ottawa, no AOR, no "In process", only application linked in GCKey. I can't believe even early applicants are going to take 2+ months to get AOR, just wow !

Nothing out of ordinary. In 2018 there were 152, 000 who received Canadian Citizenship. That's about 12, 666 a month on average. Let's say CIC received double that amount of applications for parents sponsorship. People wait 2 - 2.5 months for AOR for citizenship. I don't expect much to happen until the end of this year.

what you are talking about , different team is handling different applications .

Hi @YULIA-2016

Update for line 76:
Ecas status shows that the application was received on May 8. 2019.
Also, i was able to link the application to my account.

Thanks.

Do you think more people were assigned to review parents sponsorship applications than citizenship?
I am just trying to say people shouldn't expect anything to happen any time soon. Next year we will be moving forward big time and someone may have their parents here for Xmas and New Year's.

Guys, While linking the application, there is required field which asks number of ppl including applicants for this sponsorship. will it be 2 (mom dad) or 5 (2 parents +2 sponsored +1 dependent kid of sponsored person)
I tried so many options but not able to link the application. Ecas is updated today only.

I think you should enter 4 (You+spouse+parents)
I had the same problem i tried with 2, then 5, then seven. nothing worked. it only worked when i entered 4(me+spouse+parents). i have excluded my kid and my inlaws (i have submitted application for them too).

No kids.

If ecas update today, try linking it tomorrow.

Hello guys,

I just realized that we forgot to print Names and DOB of applicants on their photos. Will this cause a big impact?

Not a big deal. They could ask you to resend photos.

When I applied for my PR I wrote the name and DOB myself because the photographer didn't. At the last stage of the application they asked me for new photos. I sent the new photos but they still used my old photos.

Name & DOB are not suppose to be written by the photographer, he/she only suppose to write/stamp the studio address and date the photo taken.

Regardless of anything, when you are asked to send in your passport for the visa (Last stage of processing your application), you will be asked for new photos. I have sponsored my wife in 2016, my Grandmother in 2017 and both times we had to submit new Photos with the passport. My wife's application only took total of 2.5 months, so those pictures weren't even old. The worse can happen to anyone missing an a form or a mistake on the form or any small details, is that the officer will send you a request to submit again. Again this is from personal experience. I know it is very stressful to go through the process (have been through it twice) but your file won't be rejected for a small mistake/ form missing/ signature missing. Your file will be rejected if you are not meeting the requirements! Don't stress too much. Hope this explanation relieves some stress from you guys.

This is because the passport photo requirements is not the same as the immigration, if I remember correctly.
