My dear friends and fellow friendzoneds, I was just bumped up to IP2!

I'm cautiously optimistic because I do have an ETH and I wonder if I will have a prolonged background check, but I am going to ride this wave of excitement first and start worrying later. I'll be speaking to the call center to find out my status as soon as I have 30 minutes to spare. And, yes, when I checked my profile this afternoon it said "Application/profile updated" and the background check status switched to "We are processing your background check".
Congratulations buddy! Refer to my previous post related to our current wait from IP2 to PPR :)

Dear Saoussane,

If your eligibility is met then the biggest hurdle is gone! You can rest now, it will come after a day, a week, a month, or more. But if you are a good person, which I'm sure you are, it will come. Not sure you're under SS, security not started for you.
Oh does the office of Ralph Goodale get involved in such matters? How come?
Thank you Maya, I started loosing hope a month ago, I thought that nothing has started yet.
And yes Ralph's office can contact the IRCC for you, after crossing the 6 months, to get that kind of information not more.

Maya, all of this makes sense, and thank you for taking the time to share it with us!

The idea that IRCC organizes its files according to region gets confirmed to me day by day, anyways for my country.
A fellow Moroccan got his PPR this morning. I've been checking on the trackers of my country for the people who had joined the Friendzoned and it was going very closely on the basis of first come, first served basis.

Again inspired by former professional experience (which is, I believe, similar to what's cooking in IRCC but on another field), what happens in most cases I think is that:
Someone apply.
His file gets dispatched to either Sydney, Ottawa, or LVO for processing, depending on load+language of documents (French or English).
If it's Sydney or Ottawa, then the file gets piled according to date and region's team. Junior officer looks at it.

If all is straight forward and good, then he will not need much to investigate the case and that someone will be among people getting PPR fast.
If RR on anything then wait for Senior officer to check and discuss with Junior. The senior officer will either validate or give additional points to check. More time is needed then. They will not discuss again a case unless the new points they were seeking were acquired (call made to a former employer for instance). If someone adds new data (son or wife) then this takes the process a step back.

And also Junior and Senior will not be able to discuss many cases at once, so it's 5 per week at most! Anyways again I think that goes for people from my country because not more than 2 or 3 PPR were given per week for a long time (from Ottawa), sometimes only 1, or none per week.

This why there are so many disparities in processing times: The Visa office; The team working on each country (big or small); If there is a RR; when a case is discussed with Senior and if there are additional points to check; How easy and fast it is to acquire needed information, when new information is discussed again and if it's satisfying...

This green échalotte (sister of Poirot) cannot think of any other points to solve the mystery of IRCC working mechanisms.

That's funny about your whatsapp group. I'm glad I never joined one - this forum has helped me plenty, especially emotionally. I don't know where I'd be without the laughs I've had here.

Thanks for sharing your views on IP2 and VOs. I'm all for psychoanalyzing IRCC!

Not yet, kind of gone back to the routine of waiting :p
From what i observed, the time take from IP2/Ghost update to PPR is varying based on two factors
1. Which VO is your file with?
2. What's that particular VO's recent trend with respect to releasing PPRs
I know both are interrelated and the focus is more on the specific VO the case is with. I was in a pretty active NDVO specific whatsapp group for sometime, the trend observed with NDVO is that they usually release them in batches (like most other VOs), apart from one or two exceptions - around 60%-80% of PPRs released in May came on 20th and 27th. Which made me infer that they prefer to issue on Mondays, but not on all. and they tend to compile a bunch and release on a particular day rather than release them as and when they are approved. Due to this its difficult to identify a trend with respect to gap between IP2/Ghost and PPR for NDVO.
For Ottawa, I see that the gap has reduced drastically when compared to earlier months. Now, we are seeing majority of cases getting PPR within a week of IP2/Ghost. Those who have received PPR recently from Ottawa can correct me if i'm wrong.

PS: I'm expecting mine to come on Monday, coz after 27th NDVO hasn't released a big bunch!

PS: I personally didn't like one of the admins of the NDVO whatsapp group - too much moral policing, we weren't even supposed to wish our fellow applicants for a festival. This thread is much much better in that respect, we do talk about different things as well to keep the spirits high!

The call center can confirm whether your eligibility has been marked passed. And, yes, your next ghost update should mean the PPR is days away!

Is your VO New Delhi? Here's their email: delhi-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca
Thank you @derkdsou! I'll get in touch with them but I don't expect anything concrete from them. Also, am asking a friend in canada to apply for my GCMS notes. Let's see how things go.

The only trouble with your post, Maya, is I can only like it once! I especially agree that cultural integration relies on the level of international fluency a candidate has...there's no two ways about it! Loved that quote, too, and I'm glad the average processing time was brought down from years to months by the Liberals.

I also used to think like this: Why not me? I applied first! This should go on a first come/first served basis.
But cases are different.
Eg: provided a person with ETH will get assessed slower than someone with no travel history. Yes, it's so painful! (I'm experiencing this pain like many others). Yet in terms of life experiences, it's better for the well-traveled person. And he will pay the price waiting more. I think it's worth it. And after arriving in Canada, life will be easier for him because he's used to living in different environments. Cultural Shock stages are no joke! Yet I think a well-traveled person will not have to go through it again.

Don't get jealous. It doesn't matter to arrive first, but rather to arrive at the right time.

With all that I said, come to think of it, that passage which comes from a former report of IRCC in 2012 is always satisfying for me to read:
"Another witness made the opposite argument, suggesting that the Government should restrict new applications under Ministerial Instructions for the short term and process primarily backlog applications. He argued that eliminating the backlog quickly is important because the backlog has negative effects on Canada's reputation, the operation of the immigration system, and the labour market, as well as on immigrants themselves. He referenced research showing that younger immigrants have better labour market outcomes, saying “This implies that if an individual sits in the queue for three, four, or five years, there's a simultaneous deterioration in that person's ability to integrate into the Canadian labour market, and it reduces that person's lifetime earnings profile”"

Part of me wants to say: yes yes yes!!!!! xD. I'm going mental sometimes and I need rest after this wait!

That’s great news @derkdsou wish you all the best!
I still have one more day left to convince IRCC that I’m the one. Let’s see if they still friendzone me tomorrow.
Moved to IP2 on May 28 followed by a ghost update next day.
No PPR yet.

I really hope it’s true for you. Mine went through the same update end of May, no updates since then.
