I dont think an interview is for severe cases only.
When I say severe cases, I don’t mean them deeming it as an extremely fraudulent case. I mean that after trying to make a decision based on documents provided and still not coming to a conclusion on the whole genuineness of the relationship, they find that the only way to come to a decision is through an interview which is the last measure (cases here being situation not the application itself)

Hi, just curious, how did you obtain this information.
A few years ago, a person used their act to information right to gain insight on the process that happens for file that are chosen to be transferred to Mississauga. Link provided below.

This is an excerpt directly from the report he got back.

‘CPC officers may consult visa offices if country background information is required.

If a CPC officer determines that a file review is required, they should refer the physical file to the visa office for further review, with possible interview, with note as to why the file is being transferred. The CPC officer may also forward the file to the visa office if they assess that it is necessary to request and review the original passport before approving the PR application. In this case, the sponsor and the applicant should be notified that their file has been forwarded to the visa office for further processing. The final decision will be made by the visa office.’

Hi, are you an officer? How are you sure about this information?
Are you asking me? That’s an official report to the right to information request sent by the government. That’s how I am sure about the information.

Could my application have been transferred because a dependant is also included in the application?
I suggest dont get worried too much about it. Yeah it may be a reason but the good positive face is that it got transferred and that means there is some momentum with your application.

Gotcha. I wanted to be sure because i have seen too many posters in here tell others that getting an interview is horrible, it means something is wrong etc. Now nobody wants an interview but I think painting it in a bad light like other posters have done in other threads is just causing unnecessary worry.
Thank you for explaining
