Re-entry into Canada

Hello,

My fiance has recently switched her status from student to visitor, as her student visa was set to expire. When filling out the application to switch, we mentioned the reason was so that she can begin the family sponsorship process. She currently has a valid tourist/visitors visa and ETA. We know that it is not a good idea to leave the country one the sponsorship process has begun since you might not be let back in. However, we have not begun the process and now a close family has fallen ill in her home country. If she were to fly there for a few weeks, is there a chance that she will be refused entry back into Canada?

They won't question her about not having a return ticket or give her a hard time about not planning on leaving again?

The CBSA might ask her those questions, but as long as she tells them the truth, she will be fine. Just relax.

the key is not to over answer any question , just give straight forward answer to any question the CBSA officer asks truthfully, don't say anything they didn't ask . if they ask about the on going application , don't try to deny it since it's not a ground for refusing entry .

She should have a return ticket or there is a definite possibility of the airline not allowing her to fly to Canada.
