Can someone please help...

I am currently in the second year of my IEC permit, and myself and girlfriend are filling out the application for the common law PR.

Just in case the PR isn’t accepted in time we decided to also apply for an open work permit, to make sure that I can still work if my IEC expires. However, it seems like we are supposed to send off the application for the OWP with the application for the PR. But the website says to do it online, which way do we do it?

Secondly, the OWP form asks for which one I am applying for...
“Apply for a work permit with the same employer”
“Apply for a work permit for the first time or with a new employer”
“Restore my status as a worker”
“Get a new temporary resident permit”

What would the IEC fall under?

Thanks

I want to do the second one... but spousal/common law does not fall under any of the programmes listed for a bridging work permit.

On the application for spousal/common law PR it says to apply for an OWP in the guide

If you are applying inland, you need to include the OWP app with the PR app. You can't apply online. If you are applying outland, you don't qualify for an OWP.

Select "first time or new employer".
