Hey i called cic today...they said everything is passed and i security not started....they said i am in queue for security...any idea how long i takes

Why is there a need to call CIC? Does the status not get updated on the application portal?

Just to relieve some stress if yours email your VO directly they can share some what’s going on now or just wait till 6 months to complete. I contacted Winnipeg VO they emailed me back saying security checks in progress and visa officer will be assigned shortly to make a decision on your case.

How did you know your VO is Winnipeg?

Obviously, it is speculation but it seems CIO checks completeness R10 and subsequently transfers to LVOs. Inland CPCs can call any decisions at any point I think.

Thanks, the inconsistency is odd. I noticed from comments by folks in this forum that although for some cases the notes are added by the analyst, the status is still "Not Started".

How did you know your VO is Winnipeg?

I asked my CIC rep on phone call. Plus I have sent a web form because I have changed my job recently so IRCC agent told me to notify COC. So after 5 days I have received a confirmation from CWinnipeg

I got the same response to my status enquiry..they also mentioned that my application is within normal processing times. I have 55 days left as of today. Good luck to us both!

ghost updates usually are a good sign. it means that something happened on your file that triggered a change in the system, even though you might not be able to see it

Guys, also please, have heard of anyone getting his application rejected after 130 days of AOR, this would be impossible or non-sense right !

Technically you can be rejected at any stage of the application, even after PPR, but it is very very unlikely, I don't think you should worry about it. Even if CIC want to verify something they will contact you for ADR, they will not reject application without a good reason.

I've never received any ghost update since ITA, MEP and BIL. Does that mean there's no activity on my file?
