Hello everyone,

Finally I have got the COPR and planning to do the landing asap, and I have few questions which I appreciate your help answering them:

I am planning to land mid of August does that sounds good ? I consider the weather would be nicer that's all (landing in Ottawa).

Second question does all airports will do the PR application at the airport ? I have also heard you can apply for SIN in the Airport is that true ?

Other than applying for PR and SIN what else should I apply for ?

People are saying you might need 2-3 weeks to do your paper work ! I don't see that, am I missing something ? If PR application submission at the airport and SIN takes 30 min then why does it take up to 3 weeks ( not including PR card delivery that might take time).

I appreciate if some cal list to do list in order please starting from the airport.

Thanks to all of you for your support as always :)

The weather in Ottawa has been terrible so far this season. Who knows if it will get better. You will land as a PR at the airport. As far as I know you will need to go to Service Canada to get your SIN. You will need to go to Service Ontario to apply for OHIP but won't be eligible for 90 days.

Thanks for your reply. I am hoping the weather will be perfect for me as per Google it's going to be warm 25 C which is my favorite :). What is OHIP ? and is there a different between service Ottawa and Service Ontario ?

OHIP is the Ontario provincial healthcare. There is Service Ontario (provincial) and Service Canada (federal).

There may be a small Service Canada outpost in the arrivals area but not all airports have them and they are not 24/7.
If it's not available, you will need to go to the nearest Service Canada to where you are staying in order to get your SIN.
