Hey, you are not the only one. There are even 2017 applicants still waiting. I'm myself Feb 2018 applicant still waiting after pre-arrival and re-medical. IRCC says that 'the 12 month processing time is for 80% of the cases. The other 20% may take longer'. That's how they get away with this bullshit. Unfortunately, salary doesn't make a difference for spousal sponsorship. Anyhow, more people should reach out to their MPs so that this issue will get highlighted more.

That's bad, I don't understand why all the 2018 earlier applicants are being ignored by them. Coz i see all the application after April 2018 are pretty much done with the processes. I did my re medical, submitted my PC recently on 9th May so i guess It will take months again to hear back from them. :/ such a frustrating experience it is. There is an option about complainting to IRCC but not sure if it would risk the whole thing. These guys genuinely don't care about anything.

I received pre-arrival on April 11. Re-medical and Schedule A done on April 18th. There was no movement since then. Two days ago, I asked my MP to send an inquiry. Today the background check started. Maybe the MP inquiry 'woke them up'. Lets see how long the BGC takes now.

P.S. I'm a 2nd marriage case. My full timeline is in my signature below.

It's quite straight forward - those who fill the form will sign it (18 years and above). Since it doesn't apply to your daughter, why do you think she needs to even sign it.
All you need to do is follow the checklist. Not sure where you saw on CIC website that this needs to be filled in by those under 18; as below is what is on it:
Step 3: Fill out your forms
Use the checklist to prepare your forms.

  • All forms listed on your checklist must be submitted with your application. The checklist tells you if there are forms you don’t need to fill out because of your situation.
  • If there is a form listed on your checklist which does not apply to you, you must write “Not applicable” or “N/A” on the relevant section of the checklist.
  • If you need more space to give answers for any section, use a separate blank page to finish answering.
  • Reminder for Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669): In addition to validating the form and typing your name, you must also sign it by hand before you include it in your paper application package.
Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669)
You (the principal applicant) and any of your family members 18 years of age or older (who are not already Canadian citizens or permanent residents) must fill out, print, and sign a this form.

If this form is being provided for a principal applicant who is the dependent child of a sponsor, and who is under the age of 18, the sponsor or another legal guardian must sign the form on the dependent child’s behalf.
Thank you Shehzad for your detailed answer. For some reason I am not able to paste the screen shot, need to learn it I guess. however please review the link below you'll see the point of my query:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5289-sponsor-your-spouse-common-law-partner-conjugal-partner-dependent-child-complete-guide.html#5669

I have noticed another Confusion with respect to Family Photos on different occasions which are to be submitted as a proof of relationship.

Check list says: "Plz write your name and date of birth on back of each photo and provide brief description on back of Photograph".

Cic website says: "Ensure photos are clearly labelled with the names of person appearing in pictures, the date the photo was taken and the occasion or event displayed in the photo"

Logically the requirement on cic website make sense, where as writing same date of birth on every picture doesn't look making sense.

Please share your valuable input.

Regards

They are still processing Late 2017 cases. Meanwhile you can produce a natural born child, to satisfy their concerns.

1. The information on the link you mentioned is exactly the same and so it should be pretty clear:
Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669)
You (the principal applicant) and any of your family members 18 years of age or older (who are not already Canadian citizens or permanent residents) must fill out, print, and sign a this form.

If this form is being provided for a principal applicant who is the dependent child of a sponsor, and who is under the age of 18, the sponsor or another legal guardian must sign the form on the dependent child’s behalf.

2. Re photos, I would put both date of birth and date the photo was taken. make sure you put the names of who's appearing in the photo along with brief description. Idea is to cover all the requirements they have mentioned on different places. I had also included the place where photos were taken. Logically a lot of things don't make sense but when it's required then i guess we need to follow those. good luck!

Congrats brother, so the BGC finished in a day? Did you receive Passport request as well? Also do you receive emails when they start BGC and changed the status to DM?

Right, For the MP, did he just asked for the status of your application from IRCC or was there any push from MP to get things done quickly? I will go see my MP next week so Just want to know what to ask for coz so far with my experience they only ask for the status of the application.
