I contacted my MP yesterday and I got the following update,

• The responsible office has reviewed the application and documents submitted and determined that the sponsored person (the applicant) met the eligibility requirements.
• The eligibility assessment has been finalized on April 25, 2019.
• The medical examination results are on file and valid until June 12, 2019.
• The criminality verifications have not been initiated.
• The security verifications are in process.

What are security verifications? is it applicable to all applicants? Does security verification mean security screening or not necessarily? Do you have any idea?

No. Of the 5 April 2018 applicants, three are still outstanding. The two that are completed are interestingly the only two that went to Mississauga instead of London. The 3 LVO applicants are all outstanding.

What are security verifications?

Making sure you and your PA and anyone you know or are related to are not terrorists or in any way connected to terrorism.

I observed that some people's background check starts at the early stage of their application while some happens after receiving pre-arrival services, it seems the ones whose starts early usually take longer time...

Also, some people's background check status changes on their GC key and only lasts 1-2 days and they get PPR, how come their checks are finished in 1-2 days, is it because CIC actually started but did not update on system?

I think they need to improve their way of updating our accounts because it’s very misleading! For our application it’s been 13 months now .. we got prearrival 2 wk ago and they did ask for updated police certificate and updated schedule A form which might indicate that they started our BGC .. However, on our account it says BGC not started !!

I am afraid that both GCKey and ECAS are notoriously unreliable. I have known people who have their CoPR and have landed, but GCKey still shows as BCG In Progress!

HOWEVER, Pre-arrival services with a request for a new Schedule A etc.is a very positive sign that you are at the end of the process.

We are still concerned because we had to fight a PFL .. the prearrival is a good indication I believe

Have been following this forum to know if I am the only one who still hasn't received a file transfer update having finished 6 months since application received by CIC. My timeline is below:

Principal Applicant - Indian but resident in England
21 November 2018 - Application Received by Sydney centre
29 January 2019 - AOR 1
05 February 2019 - Medical Request
07 February 2019 - SA
18 Februaury 2019 - Medical Passed

There has been no update since. I enquired CIC regarding the application status via the webform. They replied after 5 days saying the application is in process, there is no further information required from the applicant and that they aim to make a decision as soon as possible. I'm just a bit nervous seeing people who applied around the same time as me (and a few cases where people who applied even after me) already getting their PPR. Also, is it normal to not receive a file transfer email? I'm assuming my file will be transferred to the London Visa Office.

Opinions appreciated!

Would you like to be added to the tracking spreadsheet? All I would need to know is married or common law? Just post future updates on this thread and I will spot them.

As regards your question, yes they should have transferred the file to a VO by now and they normally email you (have you checked spam folders etc.?). Probably will go to LVO, but could go to New Delhi or even Mississauga! Might be worth ordering case notes to see what is going on.

I'm a March 2018 applicant, LVO. Time-line in my signature.

I've also received PFL, pre-arrival, request for an updated Schedule A & police certificates.

Wanted to know whether biometrics will be requested too at any stage of the application.

Can I do them upfront to save time?

Are they requested from all applicants?

I'm from a non visa exempt country.
