Hi,
I would be grateful if you could please answer the following questions.

1. How long does it take to get PR once you arrive in Canada under Skilled Worker Class.
2. Can minor children stay in Canada if you decided not to stay.
3. Will my children get the benefits of Canadian citizen till the time they are on PR? for example University Tuition fee?
4. If my son has PR and studying in college will he get his PR if I decided not to live in Canada but he stays for more than 4 years? or as per the requirements to get immigration.

Thanks in anticipation.

1. You would qualify for PR before entering Canada and become PR when you land. Do you qualify for PR?
2. Technically yes. They would end up in government care and the government will contact you to try and reunite you with your children.
3. University tuition isn't free. They will have to pay both the domestic fees and their living costs.
4. PR and residency obligations are individual.

Not sure what you are trying to do but abandoning your children in Canada would be very damaging to them. Foster care or group homes are not something anyone would want for their children. Unfortunately there are lots of abuse, drugs, psychiatric disorders, etc. The government will also try to contact you to figure out why you have abandoned them and try to reunite you both. You could technically lose your parental rights eventually.

First of all thank you for your response. I would like to clarify certain things to get better/clear response and assistance.

1. We (parents) don't want to stay in Canada once we get PR, however, we want our son to continue studying there in college, he is minor right now, however, will be 19 next year.
2. He will be studying in the University/College for his undergraduate and we can also appoint custodian (his maternal uncle) who is Canadian national till the time he is minor.
3. The most important thing is that we want to take advantage of Tuition fee offered to children with PR instead of tuition fee applicable to International Student. So what are our options if we after getting PR don't stay in Canada, however, our son stays for studies?

Thanks a lot!!

Does your son meet his residency obligation? 18 is not considered a minor.

Dear I am really sorry, I am not sure about residency obligations?
All I need to know is that is it possible for your children to stay and study in Canada on PR if you decided not to stay in Canada? and if the children can stay in Canada will they be able to apply for immigration independently against their stay in Canada for studies?

That is incorrect. Your children have to meet the 2 out of 5 year obligation or else have to apply for prtd under H&C reasons or enter through the US border in a private vehicle and hope they don't get reported or they are forgiven for not meeting their RO. They have become much more strict because lots of people were abusing the system. Without paying Canadian taxes for years why would your children qualify for domestic tuition like other Canadian students.

They will definitely complete 2 out of 5 years obligation before applying for the immigration, my question is if I come to Canada with my family and all have PR. If I don't complete the immigration obligation while my children complete it, will they be able to apply for immigration. Secondly, will the get the admission under PR and pay the tuition fee according to PR. I will pay for their college and living from outside Canada.

Dear I just got the PR and coming to Canada with my family, so i want to know what happens if we (parents) don't stay in Canada for 2 or 3 years as per required obligation, however, leave our children with the custodian and children fulfill the obligation of 3 out of 5. Will they be able to apply for immigration?? Secondly, what kind of tuition fee will they be paying since they will have valid PR for 5 years?

Yes technically that works although definitely not the intended purpose of the PR program. Getting PR is an immigration program not a way to secure domestic tuition for your children.

I do understand that, however, if both of us (parents) won't be able to secure a reasonable job we would like to join back our existing companies since we are getting handsome money through which we can provide better living to the children.

Thanks for your responses, stay blessed.

Not sure why you think Canadian parents need to subsidize your children's education while you work abroad and make more money. I hope Canada closes this loophole.
