Hi,

I am a bit confused now , its just me and my husband and want to sponsor my parents 2.

So i filled out the interest form as below

• the number of family members in your family unit -2
  
  
• the total number of persons you want to sponsor, including their dependants (spouse, partner and children) - 2

How to calculate the family size?
The family size is calculated on the day on which the application is filed and the sponsor must advise IRCC (via the web form) of any change in the family composition. The size of the family determines the amount of income you need to sponsor.

Follow these steps to calculate the size of your family:

Step 1. How many family members are currently in your family unit?
Count the members of your family unit and include:

• yourself
• your spouse or common-law partner (who could also be your co-signer)
• your dependent children
• your spouse’s or common-law partner’s dependent children, and
• any other person you and your co-signer may have sponsored in the past for whom you are still financially responsible for.

Step 2. How many people do you want to sponsor?
Count the number of parents and grandparents you want to sponsor AND their dependents (spouse or common-law partner and dependent children).

You must also include the dependents who will not come to Canada with your parents or grandparents.

Add the total number of persons covered in steps 1 and 2. This total number represents the size of your family unit. Look at the Minimum Necessary Income Table for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship in this guide to help you decide if you have the financial ability to meet sponsorship requirements. Note that your calculations will only be an estimate.

Thanks for clarifying, I dont remember what was the question on form, does anyone remember how was it asked on the interest form

It doesn't really matter what was on the form from January.. Just make sure you have MNI for a family of 4 and send in your papers with a LOE.
Now if you don't meet LICO.. then it's a different story...

Actually, it is mentioned in the guidelines not to put NA, and if we enter the Given name and surname as the same names then the footer for applicant name looks different from the other forms... I asked this question to the CIC agents and I got below reply :

"For Schedule A, since you can’t validate it with the Given Name field empty, you can submit it without validating it and include a written explanation for why you had to do this. "

I am confused now, whether we shd keep Given name as blank and not validate form and provide an explanation letter
or
whether we shd enter the same name for Given name and Surname fields and validate the form and provide an explanation letter.
Any thoughts?

Where in their guideline is mentioned to not use NA

Other fos and supprting doc per check list

... I am just confused where to put the bar code pages that are generated with two forms.

They are not going to return the application because the order of the forms is not correct.

3) IMM 1344 (with its barcodes on top)
4) IMM 5768
5) IMM 0008 (with its barcodes on top)
and so on...

My parents worked as a government employee in India and participated in their department union activities. So, do we need to say yes to this and explain it. They don't any specific dates of participation.

Whats the solution.

You just answered your question. "My parents worked as a government employee in India " - just answer yes and put the dates/government branch as requested.

"They don't any specific dates of participation." - I am confused, they worked but don't know the dates?

If together you two meet LICO, then yes you are eligible.
