Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has had to ask for an ARC? I think my husband will need one but we haven't been asked for it, should we go ahead and apply for it to speed up the process or how does that work?

Any tips would be appreciated, thanks :)

Would you like to share why you think he may be deemed inadmissible?

An ARC is an expensive and slow process, so unless you know for certain that he will need one, I'd wait for CIC to inform you that he needs one.

Hi

If he was deported as a failed refugee, he will most definitely need an ARC. However, don't apply for it separately. CIC should request the ARC fee once his PR app has been approved.

If you are applying to come to Canada for any reason, (visiting, studying, working or immigrating),you should not submit a separate application for an ARC. If your application is approved, the ARC will be dealt within the context of that application. You will simply be asked to submit the fee

Yes he was so I'm sure he'll need one but they haven't asked us yet which I find odd and worrisome since once they do it could delay our application by months. At this point all they have said is they have all the documents they require.....

It's not odd. The app has only been in Mexico City for 8 months. Their 80% processing time is 18 months; due to the failed refugee claim, it's likely your app will take close to that, if not more. They will request the ARC fee AFTER the PR app has been processed.

I was just finding it off because I was reading some other posts on the forum that had the ARC requested at the beginning of the process and we haven't had it mentioned at all. Hopefully that's not a bad sign.

At this point, don't take it as a bad sign. Remember that all apps are different, processed differently, different visa officers etc.

I suggest ordering your GCMS notes to see what is going. They may mention when the VO plans to send the ARC request.

I just got them about 3 weeks ago and I can't see anywhere on them anything about an ARC. oh well, we'll just have to wait and see how that plays out.

Hi! I was wondering whatever happened to your application? Was the ARC requested? and if so, how did the process go for you?
