Upon checking our application, we found that we paid only $100 for the OWP, when I check the forum, people who paid only $100 got their application returned. It was extremely confusing when we make the payment, we thought we just need to pay one of the fees under work permit section, since my wife's work permit is open work permit, so we chose: "Open work permit holder". Any one in the forum has any idea on what should we do? To resubmit the work permit application, we need approved in principle which takes couple months, after submitting the application, there's another at least 4 months to get the work permit, which means the fastest time we can get the work permit is another year?

Is your wife out of status now? When does her visitor status expire if not? As stated you can pay and send receipt ASAP.

Is your wife out of status now? When does her visitor status expire if not? As stated you can pay and send receipt ASAP.

I think only if CIC have not sent out their OWP back to them, they have the chance to send the additional receipt. Otherwise, if OWP has been on the way back to them, CIC would not accept it.
In his case, he has received AoR several days ago. It’s likely that CIC has deemed the application is incomplete due to the insufficient payment.

@jumpycalm you should call CIC to figure out whether you can pay it now and submit the receipt through webform. Remember that it could take up to 5 business days for them to transmit your receipt. So that’s why I was suggesting you send the receipt along with an explanation letter directly to the OWP processing office. But, you need to know where your wife’s OWP application is at the moment.

Hi! What you can do is call IRCC and request a temporary application number. After doing this, go online and pay the $155 and upload your receipt via webform with an explanation of why you forgot it. Using an application number helps them locate your application before it’s in the system. After about a week, if they accept the webform, you’ll receive an email saying they received your document (but don’t confuse this for AOR like I did). It’s not a guarantee it will work but it’s the best thing you can do. If your app was received towards the end of March I think you should be ok but do it ASAP.

so what class of application should it be? I guess it should be "Living with sponsor in Canada applying under family class". Correct me if I am wrong. The only problem is the proofs required for living together. The lease is not in her name. She can't have a drivers license on Visitor status. We can't have a joint account. The only proof we have is that we have a child together (who is also here on visitor status) and I have her listed as a beneficiary on the supplemental health care provided by my employer. What kind of proofs can we possibly get?

In the application information (OWP) the date received is wrong. Should I call them?
I sent my application on March 8th they received it on March 11th but in the GC is March 4th.

Any update on the OWP? Pls let me know. My application was received march15, got AOR today. Was able to link both the PR and OWP application.

I know, I got my visitor visa email approval 24 hours after it showed up in the account, so it may be today the email. I'm 12/03/2019 application, waiting for OWP, finger crossed is today.

I submitted application Mar 11 and no AOR. I called again today and they said they are still not at March 11th yet for Mississauga office. I realized that at the time I submitted, I couriered to Sydney Office based on the attached screenshot. They said they won't be able to find my file and send to Mississauga and that it'll take at least another 5 months to get to it. Anyone know what I can do? Will they send it to Mississauga office or send back to me?

It’s likely that your application is sent back on the way. If you don’t want to wait any longer, you can submit another to the correct office right now. They won’t process your application in the Sydney office so you still have to resubmit it again.

I know a case that was able to have the Sunday office transfer her application to the Mississauga office, but she has to resubmit her OWP to the processing office in Edmonton.

The problem here is that they can not find your application. You will have to check with them again if you wish them to help you deliver your existing one, but as I mentioned earlier, you will have to resubmit your OWP, which will be processed separately with the standard processing time. (Not the same as sponsorship associated work permit)
