I see. Thanks. I wasn't asked either but whenever I called cic for their automatic system it always says "we dont need your finger print. we will contact you if we do (something like that" and I saw someone else was asked for it so made me wonder

I was asked for mine and done them beginning of April I have just called cic automated line and they said we do not need fingerprints but will write to you if do ... I was confused by that

The biometrics and fingerprints for a rcmp background check are two separate things; they can request a rcmp check if you've lived here for over 6 months, but sometimes they don't.

I have been here now just over 18 months so that's probably why then I just hope it doesn't make my process take much longer

It won't, RCMP check is very fast, they usually get the results in less than a week from the day it was submitted

I got the ghost update (see my signature), then nothing. Still no medical request.

I wonder what the issue is.
Sending us the medical request would cost them nothing and I know someone is working on my application, so I have to assume they are holding back on purpose. Everyone else gets the medical request regardless of the other steps, but apparently we Quebec applicants need to clear eeeeeverything else first...
Frustrating.
After we obtain the CSQ we were supposed to be treated like every other candidate. The Quebec-related step is over. But clearly that's not the case.

At least I am happy for all the other people here getting to the finish line

I know rightttt.
While other people are getting their AIP now and we're Quebec applicants here are still waiting for the med request.
I'm frustrated but at least being here in this forum makes me feel i'm not alone in this game.
