excellent link for awareness, wondering how in eyes of Canadian government a daily commuter will be in violation of this ? COmmuter is still owning/renting home in Canada, Paying taxes on goods purchased in Canada, Filling taxes ( which are much higher than USA) and much more...For all the potential commuters....

Why even a thought of this being a bad thing. For most daily commuters there is a decent entry/exit record thanks to the records maintained by the US. Now with Canada recording exits, trips to other countries where an individual exits from Canada will be properly recorded. For PR renewal all of this is a good thing as it is the most impeccable record of presence in accordance with IRCCs definition of a ‘day’. In my opinion this does not impact daily commuter who actually lives in Canada and commutes to the US.excellent link for awareness, wondering how in eyes of Canadian government a daily commuter will be in violation of this ? I think that it will be an easy exit on land borders(at least) as 99.99% of people have valid travel documents as they enter/exit US. So i dont think it will consume more than few mins daily, if they implement exit verification.excellent link for awareness, wondering how in eyes of Canadian government a daily commuter will be in violation of this ? It what is expected of a new immigrant to Canada anyways. In the end you are still not contributing to Canada's GDP by working in the states.excellent link for awareness, wondering how in eyes of Canadian government a daily commuter will be in violation of this ? I feel the other way around, I am bringing in almost double the money into Canada of what I could ever earn in Canada and of course paying a huge part of it in Canadian taxes and not to mention investing this money back into Canada in business. If Canadian government flags it, they will be missing a golden chance. It what is expected of a new immigrant to Canada anyways. As this info will be shared by IRCC, you can be sure that they will redefine the very concept of "physical presence in Canada"
Immigration officers rely on "intent" to make their decision off of, the records wont prove that would it?
My 2 cents.

PR cards are taking less than 1 month these days (just 1-2 weeks in some cases). However, if traveling by road in your own car (or rented), you can return to Canada without PR card. Your passport and CoPR are sufficient. Moreover, you can also do a soft landing now (or earlier) in order to get PR card and make the permanent move later. Also, keep in mind that border agents on both sides are not always best informed, in the right mood etc. and some times they make trouble for daily commuters. It will be best if you have US Visa instead of relying upon AVR.Hello!
I plan to move to Windsor next quarter, and will be working in Detroit.
I wanted to find out that what exactly do I need to re-enter Canada while I haven't got my PR card. My company would expect me to start working as soon as possible once I move. But, I want to provide them realistic date after finding out what travel documents will I need to reenter Canada as the visa stamp is only single entry visa.
Any suggestions for the best way to begin commuting the soonest please?
Without PR card it will be few mins delay every time you enter Canada but if your work needs to be started soon then start moving as you dont need to wait for PR card and you can start accumulating the residency period without waiting for PR card as not many get chance to work in border with job. PR card is secondary when it comes to having job on border, as per my opinion. Sometime PR card doesnt even come hence relying on that will not be much helpful for road commute. You will be anyway questioned more for the first month on both sides irrelevant of having PR card / US visa due to new guy suddenly crossing everyday.Hello!

Curious, don't guy run out of pages for stamp after a bunch of travel both ways?Without PR card it will be few mins delay every time you enter Canada but if your work needs to be started soon then start moving as you dont need to wait for PR card and you can start accumulating the residency period without waiting for PR card as not many get chance to work in border with job. If you dont have stamped visa for US then it will be more delay every time you enter because some officers call the office inside before they decide to let you enter the country but not a big deal but its a buggy thing to deal with everyday and some officers will ask everyday on when you get new visa. Canadian side will be nice without having pr card but without valid US visa its more hassle. Do you have valid US visa?
No because they dont stamp every time for regular/daily commuters(at least not for the people via road) till I94 is valid. Not sure about weekly commuters by air.Curious, don't guy run out of pages for stamp after a bunch of travel both ways?
