If I enter Canada and haven’t got my PR card but I need to leave before I can collect my card , would they ask questions at immigration during exit?

Canada doesn't have exit immigration. No one asks you why you're leaving, and there's no customs check.

The airline counter will check your passport, that's it.

If you're driving out of Canada, no one stops you. You simply drive out.

Thanks. Also when I arrive at airport - do I need to land during a weekday so that I can apply for my PR card delivery at airport itself ? I was told by a friend that it could be only done on a weekday and that to between 9am to 5pm then the officers who take PR card request leave from duty. Is that so?

Maybe your friend is thinking of a SIN? SINs are issued by Service Canada, which is usually only open on weekdays during working hours. There is a booth directly in the airport in Toronto that you'll be directed to if you land during their business hours. I landed in Toronto on a Saturday, which is not a working day for them, so I had to wait until Monday and go to the local Service Canada where I was staying to apply for my SIN. AFAIK Toronto is the only airport that has a Service Canada inside of it., though.

You can land at any time on any day. You do not need to apply for a PR card yourself unless you are unable to provide IRCC with an address within 6 months of landing. The process is started on your behalf by the officer who signs your CoPR.
