Demand list ? Is there one ? Where I can find it ?
I think the occupation in-demand list is based on the PNP programs.
A few days ago, I got involved in a conversation with the October folks. Some proposed a theory that those who have gotten PPR may have their occupations in demand list. They weren't really sure how this was looked at because different provinces have different in-demand list, maybe they're looking at job codes that are in-demand across more than one province? Who knows?
Anyways, they tested it out by comparing it few who got their PPRs and most of them had a spouse and fell in the in-demand occupation list like 2173, 2175, 1221, 1111 etc. These codes were actually in-demand list in some of the provinces like Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia etc.
The applicant + spouse with an in-demand occupation have a better chance in finding a job quickly and contributing to the economy faster by paying taxes than single applicants who do not have an occupation in-demand list. This system is also followed by Australian Immigration, when the candidate fills the application there is a question which specifically asks the candidate whether their occupation is in-demand in Australia. Maybe Canada doesn't openly do it.
However, there were also one or two cases that did not fell into the in-demand occupation list. Now again, this is all just an assumption based on a theory and nobody really knows if that is true. But it was nice to look into. Some people agreed and some didn't!!
Again, I am not being negative here or venting out my frustration. I am just stating an information what I've read from other forums. People are free to agree to disagree. If you don't like my post, you're welcome to ignore it.
