Sometimes people dont include the whole story because they dont want to show why they might be wrong. I have done that before and it doesnt help!

There is NO story!!!!!! We moved to Canada in June ...we were working overseas as international school teachers. I was a Vice Principal and my husband a Math and Physics teacher. We moved to Montreal in June. I am working at a private school here. We have been married since 2010 and have a 4 year old daughter. I am Canadian and my husband South African. He has a ten year visa but his six minth stay would run out in mid December so we applied fir an extension in October. Finally got all the police record checks he needed feom China, South Korea and South Africa to apply for his PR and OWP in November. Visa extension was granted in December. AOR in January and CSQ from Quebec late February. That is all the story.... nothing to hide and absolutely NO reason to be denied except for human error on their side.

Thanks everyone for their advice.. We are going to put in web forum request with the visa application from October, the visa extension and CSQ approval from Quebec, etc and ask them to relook at it. If not we will see our MP.

Sometimes CIC's officers make mistakes ... you can't assume things like her not saying the whole story just because you do so doesn't mean everyone is like you...

Thank you!!!! There is ABSOLUTELY No story... Two average school teachers with a family. Neither of us has even had a speeding ticket!!!? For the past month I believed someone wasn't doing their job and now confirmed. Someone has messed and made a mistake with our application and we are the ones paying for it!!!

Not sure if it was mentioned but I’d also look at ordering your GCMS notes to see what the officer actually wrote when they determined your husband is ineligible. May be helpful when your MP contacts CIC. Sorry to hear this has happened, hope you get it sorted soon.

I know I'm really sorry that you had to face all of this, but I hope that greater and better things happen to you and your family really soon
You said though that his visitor visa extensiton was granted in December so why do you want to put a webform request for that?
Did the background check on your PR file start?

It really is strange why they'd delay the OWP until AIP. I asked about the visitor extension to see if that went through without a problem, which it did. Even if you hadn't have applied for the extension, the OWP should have been approved since you already got AOR... Very puzzling.

Hope you get better news soon.

Hmm, the wording of the message you received seems to suggest your husband was out of status at the time the PR/OWP apps were filed in November, but from what you've written, you two did all you could to ensure he remained in status. Puzzling. Was he given the visitor extension?

It seems like inland PR apps are processing much faster nowadays, so AIP might not be too far off for November applicants. Obviously that's of little to no comfort right now, but yeah, that's what it is currently.
His extension was given until end of June....PR applications are moving along but we are in Montreal and NO one from September or October living in Quebec has had any luck. I feel like the cards are against us :-(
I NEVER thought it would be like this....our application seemed so easy :-(

Yvonne wants to file a webform request in regards to why the OWP was denied when clearly her husband was in status. And not in regards to the visitor extension....
I presume that her BGC hasn't started yet as its normally done after OWP. Yvonne and I have approx the same timeline and my BGC hasn't started either yet although my OWP was approved.

We are putting in a request as to WHY the officer deems my husband to be ineligible and submitting all the documents that MAYBE might be been missed (especially his extension). Grasping at straws and hoping someone helps look at our file one more time because a mistake has been made somewhere!!!

My BGC started before my OWP was approved. But yes, I think that generally OWP comes before BGC starts.

She said : "We are going to put in web forum request with the visa application from October" so I thought she meant the visitor extension because she said she applied for that in October and OWP in November
And BGC doesn't start after OWP... it starts after MR has been done
since you guys are Quebec applicants your process might not be as fast as others

I was not assuming. You do not know her neither their life story nor specific application details. She then said there's absolutely no reason after explaining. Not like I kept saying no way no way.

You guys are saying it doesnt add up and its human error. I guess it is human error. What is an error, hitting "yes" instead of "no"? I agree they should request the GCMS notes so they at least get details but an IRCC agent can see them over the phone.

Also their OWP did not get denied. Dont make it seem it was rejected. Maybe someone can chime in on why they dont get approved until AIP.

Yeah and you don't know her too and you don't know her whole story so...
I didn't say it was rejected or made it seem like that in any way it and I clearly stated that in the post below, so please read before you say anything

I'm sorry to hear that
Though his OWP is not rejected or as you said (not approved), his OWP is just going to be issued after AIP which he might get it soon
Has your husband ever lost his status in Canada?
Or was he on implied status/ out of status when he applied for OWP ?

Correct. No one knows anyone's whole story. Obviously there are personal things, even minor, that are private. We will never know everything that goes on someone's application.

You are right I misread. Your post but was commenting as a whole as someone said she got rejected the OWP.

Everyone is puzzled.

I am asking how is human error possible. Can they appeal or ask for another officer to reopen the OWP file? Might not be worth it anyway.

I apologize for seeming like I was arguing and dont seem to come off ignorant as you've helped me out too!

I just dont see anywhere the OWPs are guaranteed.
