Hello pals,

Is anyone here who has submitted bank balance certificate from Canadian bank. I need some suggestions. Does bank provide as for the format requested by IRCC or not ? I have a bank account in RBC bank.

Hi Sabeen,
I am based in Vancouver and recently got a Proof of Funds statement from RBC for the 3 accounts and Credit card account I hold with them. They do provide the statement in the format required by IRCC. Just to be safe, take a printout of the exact requirements and meet a Banking officer (You can take an appointment in your nearest branch after logging into your account online). They apparently have a typical format and he will send the request to the back end operations for processing and call you after a couple of days when it is ready for collection.

I got a letter as below on the RBC Letterhead:

(Date)
(My name)
(My address as per records)

Thank you so much, I went to the bank today, and the guy told me it might take 7-8 business days to get letter. I was wondering how many days it took for you to get the letter from bank?

Well, that sounds about right. It took me 6 days to get the letter, so just be patient.

I am with TD bank. I just went to TD bank, asked them that I need a bank statement with the stamp on it for permanent residence purpose, they listed with all transactions occurred in 6 months. I am somewhere 73 days now, so I am guessing it is fine to do so too.

hey everyone,
I am not sure if I am in the right place but I need to ask you this.
have received an ITA and about to present the proof of funds. the thing is that I have a big chunk of my funds as a bank certificate. The bank certificate date started October 2019, and was renewed at October 2020, and will end at October 2021. The statement states that I have X amount of funds and that they are held by the bank. Is that a problem to submit as proof of funds? Because I will be able to spend it after October 2021.
Please help me because I am running out of time and I have to submit my application before it expires.
would it be ok to submit my bank statement and the certificate? If I submitted both, they will cover the funds needed.

Hi @skape7 @Sabeen99 How much does it cost you to get that statement ? to have an idea
Sorry for the delay, Rahul. I don't log into this account frequently.
Since I was an Inland applicant, my bank was a Canadian bank (RBC). I think they charged me like $15 dollars or so for the letter and certified prints of my account statements.
When I submitted POF from my Indian bank, they charged me nothing for the letter. The banks were SBI and ICICI.
