Hello guys,

When I logged in to my account now status changed to "Application/Profile update" and when I went inside there is no change and when I logged out and logged in its back to submitted. Is this called ghost update? Should I be expecting PPR email in next couple of days ? I will get my passport photos ready today :)

What is the ghost update all about?
Based on @derkdsou “explanation of terms”, a ghost update is “When you log in, the application says it's been "updated" but none of the fields have changed. Once you logout and log back in, the application returns to being "submitted". Ghost updates are not announced by email and a candidate must check their profile daily to not miss them.”

This is a ghost update. When you see this, before you click "check full application status" and nothing has changed inside, this is a ghost update. If something has changed, it's not a ghost update and you can refer to the usual statuses.

Once you click "check full application status", it will go back to "Submitted" and you won't see "Application/profile updated" again until the next update.

Yes! You will probably get PPR very soon. I got the ghost update Thursday and got PPR Monday. I've seen most people get it the next day. I would expect it in the next couple of days, so yes, gather your photos.

And (hopefully) congrats!

Please see the picture I just posted above to confirm "ghost update", but what you described is exactly it.

Inland applications appear to move faster than outland, but they also appear to be "stuck" in early statuses until completion. If you want more clarity you can order GCMS notes since you are in Canada quite easily/cheaply. You can also call IRCC (see my signature for instructions) to see if they are able to determine why. Since it shows uploaded, I think it's nothing to worry about.

@Banna
Any thoughts on FSW Inland applicants?

Enjoy the reading! Explanation of Terms

Also, I've seen you participating in the forum these past few days. Could you create a "Signature" for yourself, using either my signature or that of @USProgrammer as a template?

Perfect illustration, I understand it clearly now

I'm not sure what you're asking. The post you replied to was about ghost updates which apply to everyone.

Thank you!! Will order GCMS notes

You can also call IRCC, wait on hold 30 minutes, and see what they say too!

Since you're inside Canada: call 888-242-2100. Then use options 2, 1, 1, 0 (family sponsorship). It bypasses the "put in your application info" stuff.

Sent a webform request to IRCC last week and got this back today in the morning

You will find below useful information that we hope will help understand the process and current status of your application for permanent residence:

  • Your application is currently being processed at the local office in Etobicoke, Ontario. (Previously this was Sydney, Nova Scotia)
  • The responsible office is currently verifying if your application meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied,
    • you may be contacted via your account if additional information is needed.
  • The background verifications are currently in process. (BG was always in progress/ IP2 after my medicals)
  • The medical examination results on file are valid for you. (Passed Feb 13' 2019)
VO Etobicoke
- Read some posts on this forum and not many were happy about their file being transferred to Etobicoke , IMMI tracker doesn't even have Etobicoke as a dropdown option for VO offices. So it has been hard to know the timelines for Etobicoke VO applicants.

Ordered my GCMS notes on Mar 8' 2018

Any thoughts?

My understanding too was that Etobicoke means you're in for a wait and they transfer applications there with issues that need to be resolved. To be honest, I can't remember where I read that, so take that with a huge grain of salt.
